"Inferno"

Theyyam - (Theyyam, Theyyam, Theyyam ) is a popular ritual form of worship in Kerala, India, predominantly in the Kolathunadu area (consisting of present-day Kasargod, Kannur District, Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad and Vatakara and Koyilandy Taluks of Kozhikode of Kerala) as a living cult with several thousand-year-old traditions, rituals and customs. The people of these districts consider Theyyam itself as a channel to God and they thus seek blessings from Theyyam. There is no stage or curtain or other such arrangements for the performance. In short, it is an open theatre. The shear display of power and deep emotions conveyed during the performance has to be witnessed in person to get a grasp of the immense gravity of the art form.
