By your definition I am definitely a Hobby Photographer, but that doesn't mean I am not serious about it. When taking photographs or working in my darkroom I am very serious about what I am doing & endeavour to do the best I can. However, I realise that I'm not particularly good at it, compared many of my acquaintances. I try not to let this bother me.

I take photographs for my own personal pleasure. If other people like them, well that's nice. But if other people regard my efforts as rubbish, I don't mind, because I remember the enjoyment I had taking the shot or printing it.
