A father who conducts behaves contrary to this will be sent to hell. A DAUGHTER is a means of righteousness EVEN for scholars. On one hand, the ENTIRE whole earth, including its mountains, forests, and jungles, and on the other, a HEALTHY girl daughter adorned with clothes and ornaments—both are the same. Donating a DAUGHTER has the same benefits fruit as donating gift the entire EARTH. The sale of a maiden daughter, a horse, a cow, or sesame seeds will NEVER lead to liberation from the hells like Raurava. A bride DAUGHTER's marriage should NEVER be delayed. Even his ancestors do NOT accept the offerings and tarpans he offers and the fire does NOT accept the sacrifices he offers and the gods do NOT accept the flowers and water offered by him. Observe the face of the Son who is the seed of virtue, the festival-form, the cause of protection from the hell called ‘Put’ and the crosser of the ocean of death; Because the MERIT of bathing in all the HOLY places and taking initiation in ALL the sacrifices canNOT equal the sixteenth part of the merit of seeing a son. The MERIT of giving everything and the merit of circumambulating the earth are NOT equal to even a sixteenth of the MERIT of seeing one's son. (Brahma Vaivartha Puran, Ganapati Khanda: Chapter 9)
