The remarkable ruins of Hampi (Part 1)

Known by several names, including "Kishkinda," "Pampakshetra," and "Hampi," which vary over centuries. Hampi was the capital of the Indian kingdom of the Vijaynagar Empire in the 14th century situated near the banks of the Tungabhadra river. The region dates back to the Mauryan period as rock edits of Ashoka were found.

It is believed that the Islamic invasion ruined this beautiful city, leaving behind ruins that are being now preserved by UNESCO.

"Time heals everything that reasons cannot..."

During my college years, I had a Nokia Lumia phone, which was quite popular then. As a passionate photographer, I used it to take many photos. This photograph is one of those shots that I later submitted to the college fest. While it didn't win a major award, it did receive a consolation prize.
