Chandrika - Shriansh's mom wanted to get a Krishna dress photoshoot done using aladayele (banyan tree leaf) prop; the depiction usually famous in Tanjore paintings. We both searched and enquired lot of dress rental places if such a prop was available, but none had it. One of the rental place suggested me to make the prop myself since I was a photographer and can be useful for future sessions.
So I put in some creativity, added some google & pinterest ideas and made this aladayele prop with hand-made paper, beads, sequins, and golden acrylic paint 😍

Shriansh - a cute bubbly 7 month old baby boy stole my heart this weekend with his captivating eyes and toothless million dollar smile. He was so co-operative and mostly cheerful during the photoshoot🥰 Doing something you enjoy and revive the most is the best thing one can do 😜.

It's that time of the year again when you have to switch off the TV and switch on the gas stove. Cooking is surely a stress buster and gives positive vibes. Tried a weirdo combination for lunch, but it definitely tasted good.

Prepared Sweet Pumpkin payasa (porridge) for Bhogi festival today. I was given this sweet pumpkin by my neigbour . From time immemorial I usually used to prepare curry (palya) or curd salad (mossaru bajji) with this orange beauty. But today, Vinutha suggested me to try this recipe. It definitely was lipsmacking and worth the effort and time I took in preparing it.
PS: Avoid using too much milk as the sweet pumpkin also dissapates water while cooking.

After a long time posting a photo of a dish I relished the most.
Prepared Doddapatre tovve (Basil leaves moongdal curry) today. This is a quick preparation curry that goes well with rice or chapathi, roti or Kulcha.
Dry Mixie 2 onion, 1/2 tsp saunf, 5g cinnamon sticks, 3-4 black pepper seeds, 5g jeera, 5g cloves and 5g elachi seeds.
Prepare om seeds tadka (season om seeds in oil), add ginger paste/powder, turmeric; then add 10-15 doddapatre(basil leaves) and fry till the leaves get a little soft. To this add the mixie ingredients. Fry for 3-5 mins till it mixes well. Add 4 whistles pressure cooked moongdal, 2 tsp Garam masala and salt to taste. Add 1/2 tumbler water and let it cook in low flame for 5 mins.
yaay.... your curry is ready to be served and savoured.
Ps: You can add green chilli to the mixie, but I kept it sober just for the kids.

Inspired by Radhakrishna serial that is aired in Star Suvarna Kannada channel, my both daughters got dressed up like Radha. I did DIY flower jewellery set to make them resemble like Mallika Singh (Radha character). They thoroughly enjoyed the dress-up. Kruthi also played the "Radhakrishna" Title song tune in flute.

Rave unde is always Lord Krishna's favourite dish and is a must-do-dish in all our homes for Krishna Janamashtami. We usually use grated dry coconut. But Shubha has used fresh coconut gratings in this recipe. Do try this slightly twisted way of our conventional rave unde at home during this navaratri/Dasara season.

Prepared Paneer Burfi ahead of Dasara celebrations. It's definitely easy recipe ☺️

Ingredients

Grated Paneer – 1 cup
Nandini Milk – 1 cup
Milkmaid Condensed Milk – ½ tin
Sugar – ½ cup
Nestle Milk powder – 3 cups
Badam chunks (for garnishing) – ½ cup

Procedure

In a thick pan, pour milk and allow to come to boiling.
Add sugar and continue boiling, till sugar dissolves.
Add grated Paneer and mix thoroughly and continue boiling.
The mixture starts to thicken, now add Milkmaid condensed milk and further continue boiling for about 5 mins.
Add Nestle milk powder in portions, stirring thoroughly to avoid any lumps. The mixture starts to leave the pan and starts to solidify.
Pour this into a vessel/plate/mould that is greased with ghee.
Garnish/sprinkle Badam chunks on it.
Allow it to cool or solidify for an hour. This can then be cut into pieces and served

Prepared Avacado milkshake today. Shubha had given me 2 Avacados grown at her home town🤩. I made milkshake from 11/2 fruit and kept 1/2 fruit for photo-shoot. 🥰 It was so delicious that the whole milkshake got over in few minutes 😜 Thanks for giving me such yummy and nutrient-rich fruit.
