The Common Sandpiper clicked in Thane Creek on 11 Dec. 2025. This bird contributes to the rich avifaunal diversity of the region. The adults of the Common Sandpiper are characterised by their distinctive black and white plumage, which helps them blend into the sandy shores and shallow waters of the creek.

They are known for their long legs and webbed feet, which aid them in walking on the sand and mud flats. The Common Sandpiper is a migratory bird, often seen during the winter months, and is a significant part of the avifaunal community in Thane Creek.
