From the mountains back to my hometown, Amritsar.

Just 2 km from my home, these fields begin…
places I’ve seen all my life, yet never really stopped to capture.

I was always busy exploring the Himalayas, chasing stories far away…
but sometimes, stories exist right next to you — you just need to pause.

Now, whenever I get the chance,
I’ll be sharing glimpses from my own city.

A new series begins from Amritsar.
Hope you connect with it. 🌾

Winter Spiti is not just a trip — it’s something that stays with you.

I’ve been there twice, and both times felt completely different…
yet equally unforgettable.

The silence hits differently in winter.
Frozen rivers, endless white landscapes, and skies that feel closer than ever.

But what truly stays with you is the life there —
local people living in extreme conditions,
monasteries holding centuries of calm,
wildlife surviving in one of the harshest terrains.

It’s cold, raw, and real.
And somehow, everything feels more alive.

Spiti is not just about places —
it’s about experiencing the Himalayas in their purest form.

If you’re planning a trip to the Himalayas —
whether it’s a road trip, trekking, or cultural festivals —

Faagli — a ritual that might look chaotic from the outside.

People throw dust and ashes at each other…
but it’s not random. It’s symbolic.

Dust marks the end of winter,
letting go of old energy.
Ash from ritual fires carries the idea of purification.

Two sides come together in a playful clash—
like winter meeting spring,
like darkness making way for light.

In the Himalayas, soil isn’t just dirt…
it’s life, it’s sacred. 🌾

Not everything needs to be shared with a location.
Sometimes, protecting a place
is also a form of respect.

Because culture isn’t content
it’s something to be understood, not consumed.

Bhimakali Temple, Sarahan 🏔️
A place where silence speaks louder than anything.

Visited after Holi in Sangla Valley (2023) and ended up spending hours just sitting in stillness.

Ancient wooden architecture, deep spiritual energy, and views of Shrikhand Mahadev Peak in the backdrop — this place stays with you.

Not every journey is about exploring… some are about feeling.

March- April is a beautiful time to catch cherry blossoms in the Himalayas, especially in certain pockets of Kinnaur, Lahaul, and Leh-Ladakh.

Kinnaur (Himachal Pradesh)
Best Areas: Kalpa, Sangla, Chitkul, Spello and nearby villages like Rakchham and Batseri.

Blossom Time: Late March to mid-April, depending on altitude.

Highlights: Apple orchards in bloom (white and pink flowers), clear skies, snow-capped peaks, fewer tourists.

Leh-Ladakh (UT of Ladakh)
Best Areas: Leh town, Nubra Valley (especially Turtuk, Diskit, and Hunder), Sham Valley.

Blossom Time: Mid-March to early May (depends on winter severity).

Highlights: Apricot and apple blossoms, especially in Turtuk – a photographer’s paradise during bloom.

Tip: Turtuk and Nubra’s microclimate makes them bloom a bit earlier than central Leh.

Experiencing the festivals of the Himalayas has been one of the most powerful parts of my journey. Last year, I witnessed the ancient Raulane Festival in Kalpa a tradition believed to be over 5000 years old in the Himalayas.

It was an incredible and deeply spiritual experience to witness this celebration dedicated to the mountain spirits and the divine energy of Shiva. The moments I documented from the festival later went viral across the internet, bringing attention to this rare Himalayan tradition.

I couldn’t attend the festival this year, but I will surely return to Kalpa again to reconnect with the place, the people, and the powerful spiritual energy of Lord Shiva that flows through these mountains.
