A video from the Minimarg check post in the Kargil-Ladakh region went viral on 19 August 2026, showing a female tourist in a heated argument with security personnel over restrictions on road movement. Reports say tourists had reportedly been waiting for around five hours because traffic was being regulated at the checkpoint.
According to reports, the woman became upset about the prolonged delay and questioned why tourists were being stopped. During the confrontation, she reportedly compared the restrictions with the treatment of people in Kashmir and was heard saying, "We are Gen Z, and we won't tolerate this."
A second video reportedly showed her threatening to raise the matter in Parliament. Another widely circulated clip attributed to the incident has her saying that Army salaries are paid from taxpayers' money.
