Picture day for these kiddos! We had to do some work on teaching them how to smile (plus the support of their Morah standing behind me😂) but overall, I think they did a great job!

It's been slow recuperating after the most recent wave of violence. Something seemed off in sharing laughing families and little babies or acting like nothing had happened or as though this was all over. Not just on social media, but in real life, too. But as they say, l'at l'at, shway shway, bit by bit.

I'll be responding to inquiries and delivering galleries this week -- in the meantime, here’s a image I took of a laboring mom which so often seems like the truest space of all.

love and blessings xo

Whew! Been a while since I've shared a family session.

One of the most common things I'll hear from parents with toddlers is, "by the way, my child is REALLY independent" or "Hopefully, we can get them to sit still for a few minutes". So I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts to help you reframe for our session.

1) I LOVE KIDS and I genuinely love spending time with your child!

I love playing with kids! I love running and jumping and peek-a-boo and hide-and-go-seek and exploring magical forests or picking flowers. I am not intimidated by your child's energy levels. I'm here to document your child, your family, with posed photos and candid photos. Don't worry if your kiddo needs a snack break, a moment to wander about, or a space-out break. I'm confident in my ability to connect with children, and if they need a break, we'll use that time to sneak in some photos of you and your partner alone.

2) Tears are okay!

Kids cry! And they can cry in front of a photographer. And that might feel bad when all you see on Facebook are endless photos of happily posed families. But I promise it happens all the time, and I think those photos make for sweet candid shots, too. Hugs, soothing, and little baby tears are worth documenting.

Anyway, enjoy this sweet session with this cute cute CUTE family!

Some photos from today's lunch where I did that thing where I, for absolutely no reason at all, felt too shy to tell the fishmonger that he gave me too much fish! So instead I took it all!

But actually, this is Spanish Mackerel which apparently just came in fresh from the Suez Canal and it's my new favorite fish. It is so tender and rich and just has incredible texture. Two thumbs up!

Having a travel bug but with nowhere to go, I'm looking over my photos from a trip to Romania last year. We went to a beautiful cabin house in the mountains with a group of friends to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday! I could've happily stayed inside the whole week, without ever leaving the house. Drinking coffee, having dream breakfasts every morning, staring out those big windows onto the mountains.
Something about sitting inside an apartment overlooking Jaffa's light rail construction just isn't quite the same. Here's to hoping for next year!

As we head into our third (fourth? fifth?) lockdown this evening, I'm sharing a few photos from our last lockdown break: a fun day trip to Shuk Levinski with visiting friends. I've been sharing more photos of days out and morning adventures over families and headshots. Why? Cause this is where I get to play around with tones and colors in a way I'd never do with clients. Shuk Levinski is such a special place to grab a ביס, nosh on treats, delicious drinks, and source all your specialty food products.

Side thought of the day: I watched Kung Fu Panda last night. The wise Master says one often meets destiny while trying to avoid it.

What a sweet initiative by עיריית תל-אביב-יפו ! We headed down to קפה שפירא for the Zine Festival, but turned out Tel Aviv City opened up multiple locations in the neighborhood for second hand garage sales :)

I was hired to photograph the birth of these two boys back in February. I got the call that they were heading to the hospital and it was time to join. So, I hopped in the car and made my way down to Jerusalem, and back to the birthing ward I went! Hour by hour slipped by. One, two, three, four, five. But that's life when you're photographing a birth -- I never know if I'm leaving my house for one hour or thirty-two hours (true story, for another time). It's a sphere where anything can happen. After 10.5 hours, well, things don't always go to plan. Because the hospital didn’t allow me to be present for the actual birth, I offered to do a follow-up session. That is, until Corona hit. At the first possible opportunity that I was permitted to start working I made sure to do an adorable session with these sweet little boys. Fraternal twins, who, at the beginning of the session I could not tell apart, but by the end their personalities were so distinctly different! ❤

Do you have any questions about birth photography? I love to hear 'em!
