✨ Why Jewelry Photography is Everything in E-Commerce ✨
A recent study out of the University of Warmia and Mazury confirms what we’ve always known in our industry: customers buy with their eyes.
🔹 94% of online shoppers pay attention to product photos when making decisions.
🔹 83.6% say the photo directly influenced their purchase (Szulc & Musielak, 2023).
🔹 Lighting plays a huge role — over 82% of shoppers notice differences in how a product is illuminated, and the right lighting can make details pop, increasing the likelihood of a sale.
🔹 Clean packshots on a white background (shadowless tent) were rated the most persuasive and attractive, while adding props or even showing the price in the photo actually lowered the perceived value of the product.
For jewelry, this is critical: the sparkle of a diamond, the color of a gemstone, the polish of gold — these micro-details can’t be touched online. They have to be felt through the photograph. When photography communicates craftsmanship truthfully and beautifully, it doesn’t just show jewelry — it sells it. 💍
