Volcovich Photography Moy Volcovich was born in Mexico City in 1963. With over 30 years of photography experience. He has been consistently recognized for his award-winning books.

Moy Volcovich is a dreamer with a camera on his shoulder, graphic journalist of society. His works have appeared in over thirty solo and collective exhibits around the world including; Binyanei Hauma and The Khan Theater in Jerusalem, Israel; Museo de la Ciudad de México, Centro de la Imagen, National Art Museum, Papalote Museo del Niño, Museo de Memoria y Tolerancia, in Mexico City; The Koffler Centre of the Arts and the Toronto Metro Hall in Toronto, Canada; The National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, USA; and The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, USA. In addition, Moy has published 15 books including: Lotería de la Condesa, A Week in the life of CDI, Mexican Synagogues, After the Boots of Oblivion, I Kept my Promise (Gerda Freiberg), To be a Child Mexico, Eyes with Wings, Religion, and Freedom in the Children of Mexico. With over 30 years of photography experience, Moy Volcovich is a dreamer with a camera on his shoulder, graphic journalist of society. Hace 30 años salí a buscar y retratar a las personas que hacían de la Condesa mi colonia.

Nunca imaginé que tres décadas después volvería con sus fotografías, sus voces y sus historias al mismo lugar donde todo comenzó.

La inauguración de La Lotería de la Condesa fue un encuentro con amigos, vecinos, personajes, recuerdos y muchas historias que siguen apareciendo.

Gracias a todos los que estuvieron ahí y fueron parte de esta noche.

La Lotería sigue viva. La partida continúa.

Don Enrique es uno de los personajes de La Lotería de la Condesa y una de esas voces que ayudan a contar la historia del barrio desde quienes lo vivieron todos los días.

Don Enrique is one of the characters of La Lotería de la Condesa, and one of the voices that helps tell the story of the neighborhood through the people who lived it every day.

LA LOTERÍA DE LA CONDESA IS COMING HOME.

After so many years, I’m incredibly excited to share this project once again in the place where it was born.

La Lotería de la Condesa grew out of a place that has always been part of who I am. I grew up in La Condesa and, years later, returned with my camera to photograph some of the people who gave the neighborhood its character — its personalities, its stories, and the faces that many who lived there may still remember today.

On August 27, these photographs return to La Condesa for a very special exhibition, together with the presentation of the book.

I would love to reconnect with friends, neighbors and familiar faces, and to welcome anyone who would like to discover — or remember — a little piece of the Condesa of those years.
