Since the start of the war, I've had the honor of photographing special weekly events for refugee families who were evacuated from Northern and Southern Israel. These communities were the primary targets of rocket attacks from Gaza and Lebanon.
Once a week, Chabad of Talbia, Jerusalem, has been organizing amazing free kids events for these families. They've had circus guys, a magician, an animal show, DJs & dancing, paint events, live music, and more.
All this along with fun kids snacks like pizza, fresh popcorn, fresh cotton candy, ice cream, chicken nuggets, french fries, hot dogs, etc.
The organizers have incredibly big hearts, endless selfless motivation to help others in need, and an incredible understanding of how to make events that are exactly what these kids love.
I've seen that these events are incredibly successful at making the kids so happy that they forget we are at war, forget they are far away from home, forget that no one knows if and when it will be safe to return to their hometowns.
Amazingly, this Chabad team has also been providing countless other services for the families: preparing thousands of meals, collecting clothing donations, providing emotional support, and more.
