Hi Everyone -- I wanted to share that I will be traveling to Jordan starting tomorrow to conduct 3 Location Management workshops throughout the country during the month of November.
It was an honor to be selected by the Location Managers Guild Int'l in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy and Royal Film Commission of Jordan. I'll be traveling with Atlanta LM, Andrea Keener for this amazing adventure. I finally created an Instagram account! You can follow the our unique travels at kimonlocation and Scouts Without Borders on FB. Jordan has a long film history from 1962's Lawrence of Arabia, The Hurt Locker, The Martian, Indiana Jones and Star Wars. If I don't fall off a camel, I'll be back in Dallas just after Thanksgiving! Yalla!
Call for Participation:
“Location Management” Workshop
The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC), with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Jordan, invites you to take part in the “Location Management” Workshop.
November 6th – 8th, 2022. From 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
The Royal Film Commission – Jordan, Jabal Amman, 1st Circle – 7 Omar Bin Khattab Street.
The workshop aims to develop the skills and knowledge of beginner and semi-intermediate level participants in the profession of location management. The participants will better understand the role of a location scout manager in terms of breaking down a script to identify the needed locations, researching and scouting locations, breaking down a budget and obtaining permits to film in a legal manner. They will also learn about the location manager’s responsibility to oversee safety and liability issues as well as the importance of “wrapping” locations properly to make sure sites have been returned to their original condition before filming.
The workshop will include both theoretical and hands on training, as participants will go on a scout.
