Bob Rock Photo Exhibition – A Tribute to Over 35 Years Behind the Lens - The life and work of one of Youghal’s most beloved photographers will be celebrated this summer with the Bob Rock Photo Exhibition, opening Thursday 21st August 2025 at Cumann na Daoine, Catherine Street, Youghal.
The exhibition, curated by Kieran McCarthy, features a selection of prints from Bob Rock’s extensive portfolio, along with two digital archive slideshows. One presents Bob’s more modern work, while the other features a narrated journey through his images, with commentary from his daughters and other participants who knew him and his photography.
A Roscommon native, Bob Rock worked professionally as a photographer for over 35 years. He photographed hundreds of weddings, local events, and life occasions, and later developed a deep passion for nature photography, travelling throughout Ireland to capture its beauty. Bob frequently exhibited for local charities, including the Youghal Cancer Support Group, raising significant funds for causes close to his heart.
The launch night takes place on Thursday 21st August at 7pm, with a special screening of archive material and guest speakers sharing their memories of Bob. All are welcome to attend.
