Agnes Codd specialises in creating timeless and memorable images of people and places. Agnes works from her studio in Rosbercon, New Ross, Co. Wexford.

Biography:
Agnes grew up on a farm in Rathnure, Co. Wexford and has always loved country life and nature. From an early age she has been interested in photography. At the age of fourteen she received her first camera as a gift. She began photographing people, nature, trees and the landscape and also did her own developing and printing. In 1984, she started her career as a professional photographer

and for sixteen years ran a studio in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary doing portraiture, weddings and commercial work before returning to New Ross. Agnes has a very artistic mind, with a great eye for detail. Photography gives her the freedom to be very creative, producing beautiful and timeless images. Agnes’ images grace the walls of homes and businesses across Ireland and abroad. Irish Home Thoughts:
Over time Agnes has built up a large collection of images of Irish life which evoke memories for people, especially those who have moved abroad, away from home, family and friends. It was from this that the concept of ‘Irish Home Thoughts’ was born.

Featuring this week in the Hayes/Joyce Millennium collection which were taken by Nick Hayes in the year 2000 we have a group of very special ladies, The Carmelite Sisters serve our community in prayer especially in times of ill health and stress and I'm sure they are praying for us all during the present pandemic. Thank you Sisters.

Hayes-Joyce Millennium Collection Re-visited.
In 1999 Declan Joyce with a view to mark the second millennium approached Nick and myself to create a photographic history of some groups and organisations, professional and amateur, who at that time served New Ross and the local area so well.
Some have retired or moved on, some have passed away, none are forgotten.
Have a look to see if you recognise those of 2000, who acted in solidarity, provided empathy and showed kindness.
