Three months married already... where has the time gone? ❤️

It feels like only yesterday that Rozalyn & Kieran were celebrating at the stunning Grace Westport Estate. From the excitement of the morning preparations to an unforgettable celebration filled with laughter, love and plenty of dancing, their wedding day was everything you could hope for.
Looking back through these photographs brings back so many great memories of such a wonderful couple and an incredible day surrounded by family and friends.

I'll be at Howleys Pub, Curry next Wednesday 22nd July photographing this year's Debs before everyone heads off to Tullamore! 📸✨

TIMES
My studio setup will be open from 2pm – 4:30pm, where you can get photos with your friends, family, your date, or even a few solo shots.

💡 WANT TO AVOID THE CROWDS
The studio get extremely busy the closer to 4:30pm but I'll actually be ready from 1pm, so if you'd like family photos before everyone arrives, feel free to come early!

⏰ PRE-REGISTER TO SAVE TIME & SKIP THE QUEUE
To keep things moving on the day, I'd really recommend pre-registering your photo session, otherwise you will need to fill out the form on the day and we will skip to the next person. You can also pre-pay if your parents are sorting it, or just pay on the day.

This has hit me hard today.

Firstly, I can’t believe, I’m the same age as him and to die so young has frightened the hell out of me!

I grew up watching Dawsons Creek.
My wife & I use to love to listen to the CD soundtrack every time we drove home from Dublin when we were dating.

Our 2nd date was watching “Varsity Blues” in the Ambassador Theatre at the top of O’Connell St in Dublin when it use to be a cinema.

So, I’m here listening to the melodies of Paula Cole & P.J. Olsson while editing weddings and it takes me back to a time before mortgages, weddings & kids, when we were carefree and had our whole lives ahead of us in the early 2000’s.

I’m proud of what we’ve achieved but now I’m 48 and I need constant motivation to keep focused on changing for the better .

In January, I took a hard look in the mirror and didn’t like what I saw. An overweight 48 year old grey haired dude with sleep apnea and fondness for chips and chocolate (not at the same time).

So back in January, I decided to change my bad habits and try to live a better life so I will be around to see my own daughters get married.

I joined a gym ( 😭) and I’m trying to eat healthier and getting regular checkups with my GP.

Days like this give me the motivation to keep going.

So, for any of my Gen X friends, take note of JVDB passing as a kick in the ass to get healthy and enjoy life !

Still recovering from a wild weekend at the .p.p.v.a Conference & Gala. It was a fantastic experience to meet so many photographers & videographers from across Ireland that have such passion and dedication that I can’t help but feel love for what we do and a spirit of community and friendship.

Unfortunately,I didn’t win this year but it was a great night to be even in the running with such fantastic wedding photographers across Ireland

Congrats to and on their wins in the wedding categories, truly deserved and to the phenomenal images by the finalists as seen in the pics here.

It only encourages me to keep upping my game, try new things and maybe next year, I might be bringing home some IPPVA glass 🤞
