Solar Eclipse Ireland - August 12th
On Wednesday 12th of August 2026, around 96% of the Sun will vanish over Sligo, among the best views in the country, with the path of totality skimming just off our west coast. It's the deepest eclipse Ireland has seen since 1999.

Peak time is 7:09pm.

You'll have to wait until 2090 for a total eclipse over Ireland. Don't forget your eclipse glasses and never look directly at the sun.

On Wed 12 August 2026, around 96% of the Sun will vanish over Sligo, among the best views in the country, with the path of totality skimming just off our west coast. It's the deepest eclipse Ireland has seen since 1999.
