UAAI Joins the Joint European Drone Association.
In a move that consolidates our standing within the European Drone sector,
The UAAI have officially teamed up with our European Counterparts to help
create the Joint European Drone Association (JEDA)
Announced today at the European Drone Forum in Cologne, JEDA is a body
that will represent all the stakeholders in the European Drone sector,
whether professional or private.
One of the main aims of JEDA will be to help speed up approval and rollout of
a vast range of UAV business across member states in Europe and to help shape
the regulations and rules that we are governed by.
Jeda will also help to promote the interests of all stakeholders including
Operations, Manufacturing, Research, Development of all unmanned aircraft
and systems in Europe.
Our Chairwoman Julie has worked relentlessly to help this come to fruition, a
long and frustrating process but eventually succeeded in getting it across the
line.
With members based in Albania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria,
Spain, Belgium, Estonia, France, Greece, Switzerland, Latvia, Lithuania,
Finland, Ireland, and Germany, it is a great opportunity for the Irish Drone
Industry to reach out to our European neighbours to gain insight into their
regulatory and industry approaches and to hopefully make our future better,
safer and more rewarding for all concerned.

JEDA - Joint European Drone Associations,
the new EU Association, unified voice in the European drone sector
November 12th, 2021, European drone-related associations gathered in Brussels to
take a significant step forward in the EU Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) sector by
creating JEDA.
The creation of this association was officially announced, in the presence of representatives
of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), and several JEDA members on Monday,
November 15, 2021, at Cologne during the European Drone Forum organised by UAV
DACH.
The Joint European Drones Associations, a new policy-oriented partnership of European
drone- related associations is established to promote the interests of the growing number
of stakeholders engaged in the operation, production, research and development, service,
and applications of all kinds of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in Europe.
Also, JEDA aims to represent the increased legislative and regulatory activity that
affects everyone who flies a drone for personal and professional use and to develop and
maintain a common understanding of the seamless integration of UAS/RPAS into aviation
and the European airspace system.
Towards European drone operators, JEDA will quickly carry out specific significant actions
in the service of the UAS sector.
JEDA will promote and support an extensive range of European drone activities and all
related
businesses including manufacturers, suppliers of business solutions, UTM service providers,
operators and training organisations, in order to create synergy between stakeholders in
search of new markets.
JEDA encourages sharing best practices in using new regulations and technologies and
creating standard tools and information to facilitate their European operations.
All the JEDA members will be involved in advocacy, advice, and links with the
European Commission and the leading European bodies (such as EASA,
EUROCONTROL and EDA), projects (such as SESAR), companies and stakeholders
involved in the UAS/UTM/UAM sector.
