R.I.P. Mickey McConnell

Sad to hear of the passing of Mickey McConnell, originally a Fermanagh man but well and truly adopted by Kerry where he spent most of his life with his wife Maura. I worked for 15 years alongside Mickey with his article for the Kerryman Newspaper and have some fond memories on our adventures.

This picture was taken of him in his Old Morris Minor which was gifted to him from his friends after he wrote about a old battered up Morris, This car was to be christened "Flattery "

Two Legends, in their own right, who passed away this week.

Danny Hannon
A Legend of Amateur Drama, the passing of Danny Hannon, a friend, a mentor and a man who always had a word of encouragement every time I met him. I was asked to act in a play that Danny penned out of John B Keanes Letters, on a tour of North America in 2000 with the group Danny founded, The Lartigue Theatre Company, visiting Atlanta, San Francisco , Las Vegas, Chicago and New York, where memories and friendships were forged and never forgotten.

Meatloaf
From one of the biggest selling artists of all time, Meatloaf will be remembered for the 'Bat out of Hell' trilogy, but must also be noted for his acting skills as well.
I was fortunate to be asked to photograph him in Killarney as part of the 2005 Summerfest where he headlined the festival and lit the stage alive with his flamboyant performance.

Our Town and the World are a better place for having your creative minds.

Jerry Ryan - R.I.P

It was with sadness that I heard of the passing of the late Jerry Ryan's over the weekend. Jerry, an 'import' to the town of Listowel from the big smoke, he was adopted as one of our own and was a big part of the town for the past number of decades.

The above picture I took of Jerry in the early 90's , when he had found 2 abandoned kittens in one of the street bins when out on his daily clean-up of the town.

Must say the dress by Finesse Bridal Wear what a stunning match to a beautiful bride .
I love the flow of creativity couples give me not only when I shoot but also in the editing, I am a firm believer an image is only 50% when you make the click, it is just the ingredients , the really images comes alive in the creative edit, which i equally love.
