Just look at the lens Photography Just look at the lens is the first thing to start looking great in photo's. Where I take photo is wh

I JUST SAY LOOK AT THE LENS because Photography (derived from the Greek phot- for "light" and -graphos for "drawing") is the art, science, and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film, or electronically by means of an image sensor.[1] Typically, a lens is used to fo

cus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. The result in an electronic image sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing. The result in a photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically developed into a visible image, either negative or positive depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing. A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing. Photography has many uses for business, science, manufacturing (e.g. photolithography), art, recreational purposes, and mass communication.

This page is 6 years running and you can follow all the weir developments in that time. We have met several Taoisí, MEP’s. Ministers, TD’s and Councillors over the last 16 years. We have been to Town and County Halls, Dáil Éireann and the EU in Brussels. This is our 4th General Election and still we wait. We have banished the Lies and Misinformation and every ‘official’ now agrees that the job must be done. We are asking everyone now to mention this, when a Candidate appears on your doorstep. The Wheechair boat is grounded and cannot operate for young, old and disabled alike. River levels are up to two metres under normal levels. What we need is for tenders and contracts to be signed. PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE this message to as many as possible and stay in touch.

Read below why this is happening

A lot of people are not aware that Fermoy Weir is a Protected Listed Structure so it cannot be removed and must be maintained. It is also been an integral part of Fermoy which the town was built around and many clubs and groups exist because of this, the river has brought a huge economic value to Fermoy and the region over the years, from angling to rowing to swimming etc. so this is something we must to protect as well as our Salmon.
For many years clubs and groups from all types of disciplines, members of the public in the town and up and down the Blackwater Valley have been appalled by seeing what has gone on at the weir in Fermoy, the Salmon trapped and struggling to get up river and then seeing the Fish Pass literarily fall apart only to be temporarily repaired 6 years ago with steel piles and now over the last two years the weir has been breached and with every flood this is breach is been eroded badly and because of this there is not sufficient water is in the fish pass.
A number of clubs last November made a submission to Inland Fisheries Ireland to have a By-Law introduced for the weir, where anglers would be prevented from fishing in the Salmon Pass or on top of the weir or in a small pool by the breach on the weir where these Salmon become trapped in low water conditions, so we are pleased to see that Inland Fisheries Ireland has published the Temporary By-Law for Public Consultation which is a step in the right direction.
From this meeting with IFI there was plenty talk around the town, our own Clubs talked to our own members and before we knew it we had 10 clubs/organisations that use this valued river amenity at our meetings looking for action. All of us want to the same things, the weir reinstated/repaired at the breach a new fish pass built which have been talked about for far too long and there is allegedly plans for this new fish pass but none of us has seen them!!
Members of the Public continue to ask us to explain to them what is happening as they are frustrated seeing what is going on and not been able to do anything about it!! so we now hope that this new page and twitter account will give this information.
Our campaign is now starting in earnest so please support a planned protest for the 21st of April on Fermoy Bridge from 9am which coincides with World Fish Migration Day.
We are fed up for waiting seeing our Salmon struggle and our river amenity being destroyed, so it’s now time for action!!
