Oisin McShane and Niall Myers are preparing to take on an exciting international challenge this September, with Oisin set to compete at the Rali da รgua in Portugal behind the wheel of a Peugeot 208 Rally4.

Oisin & Niall depart on Sunday for a busy week of preparing notes during reece and a Pre Event Testing in his new car for the weekend before the event official kicks off on Thursday, September 10, with the ceremonial start, before the competitive Portuguese tarmac rally action begins on Friday.

The international outing has been made possible with the valued support of Oisinโ€™s main sponsors: KELLY MOTORSPORT, I HEATING & COOLING & THE CRAIG BREEN FOUNDATION.

Rali da รgua will provide Oisin with another valuable opportunity to compete on unfamiliar roads, develop his experience and demonstrate his pace aboard the highly competitive Peugeot 208 Rally4..

Competing in Portugal represents another exciting step forward for Oisin McShane , with the team looking forward to taking on a new challenge against strong competition on international stages.

Speaking today Oisin McShane said, "Iโ€™m really looking forward to getting over to Portugal for the Rali da รgua. Itโ€™s going to be a completely new challenge for us, with new stages and plenty of learning. The Peugeot 208 Rally4 is a newer version of what I have been using here at home and is a fantastic car. Iโ€™m excited to see what we can do with it against the large class of cars that have entered. The aim will be to settle into the rally, build our speed and hopefully come away with a strong result.
I have to give a massive thank you to Kelly Motorsport, I Heating & COOLING and the Craig Breen Foundation for their support. Without the people and businesses who get behind us, opportunities like this simply wouldnโ€™t be possible and we will be giving it everything when we have the chance.โ€

Oisin McShane would also like to thank all of the teamโ€™s sponsors, supporters, family, friends and everyone working behind the scenes for their continued backing.

Updates from Portugal will be shared throughout the rally across the Oisin McShane Rallying social media channels all week.

Jayden Mc Brearty has enjoyed a hugely successful weekend of racing after the summer break, competing in his first-ever double-header across two of Irelandโ€™s leading circuits this weekend racing 2 different cars claiming race wins each day .

The 16-year-old from Killybegs was in action at Kirkistown Circuit on Saturday for rounds 5 and 6 of the ICCR Championship, competing in the hotly contested Mini Junior class of 17 cars..
Jayden made the perfect start to the weekend by claiming pole position in qualifying for both races. He went on to take a dominant victory in Race 1, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process to claim the top step of the podium.
He followed that up with another strong performance in Race 2, finishing second, securing an important haul of points for the championship.

With little time to celebrate, Jayden and his team headed straight to Mondello Park for the next round of the RSA Summer Series.

Continuing his excellent racing form, Jayden produced another outstanding performance, winning both the Junior Mini class and the overall Mini Class 12.

It was a weekend to remember for the young Killybegs racer, who demonstrated impressive pace, consistency and determination across both days on both tracks.

"I was looking forward to this double header weekend all Summer,โ€ said Mc Brearty.
โ€œThe experience I have gained from last year is showing in this year. Iโ€™m buzzing to be on the podium all weekend and is a great reward for my team and sponsors. The Atlantic Dawn Group, Gormley ltd, The Stables Motorsport Centre, Pod-Track, Mooney Boats, Toolforce.ie, Speedcar IRL & UK, KER Group, TrailerStuff.ie, TC Promotions, CBM SIgns.ie, BAHCO, Finoil, John Autos JFS Crash Repairs and Peak Physical Wellbeing Fish R Us. without there support these weekends could not happen".

With two wins, two pole positions, a fastest lap and a further podium finish from his first double-header weekend, Jayden Mc Brearty has certainly become a name to watch out for as the season continues into the final 4 rounds.

Josh Moffett, with Andy Hayes co-driving, chalked up a first ever Modern Tyres Ulster Rally victory to put one hand on the Irish Tarmac Championship with just the Cork โ€˜20โ€™ remaining.

A regular at the Northern Ireland Motor Club event, Moffettโ€™s maiden victory was achievedby three seconds at the wheel of his Combilift Rallying Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris Rally2.

Moffettโ€™s move to the top of the timesheets came on the penultimate stage having trailedthe Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 of Ulster Rally debutant for most of Friday and most of Saturday.

The final podium spot went to Cathan McCourt, who came out the correct side of a titanic battle with Northern Ireland Champion Jonny Greer to make it two Skodas in the top three.

โ€œCredit to both Eddie and Tom [Murphy his co-driver ] โ€“ they pushed so hard all weekend and really made it incredibly difficult for us,โ€ reflected Moffett. โ€œThe stages were fast and wejust had to push ourselves so hard all weekend and, in the end, we finally got the win. โ€œAnd from the perspective of the Irish Tarmac Championship, this result is going to make our life a bit easier in Cork, but equally a good result down there is going to be important.โ€

The rally officially kicked off on Thursday evening with a family friendly opening ceremony atthe Ballymena Showgrounds, with representatives from Modern Tyres, and councillors fromMid and East Antrim Borough Council, joined by special guests Josh McErlean โ€“ a driver with the M-Sport World Rally Team โ€“ and top-flight Toyota WRC navigator, Aaron Johnson.

Run over two days and 12 stages totalling 100 competitive miles, Doherty was quickest outof the traps on Friday as he recorded a clean sweep of scratch times on the opening loop that was despite his Czech mount being slowed by a suspected pop off valve issue.

Dohertyโ€™s early dominance continued after first service in Ballymena โ€“ the host town for the 50th running of the Ulster โ€“ as he increased his 2.3 second lead to almost 7 seconds.

Behind him Moffett was remaining confident even though his car was struggling to handle the jumpy, bumpy nature of the roads in a way that he would have liked.

Cathan McCourtheld third overnight having earlier escaped a wild moment that bent the rear steering arm and wheel attached to it, with newly crowned Northern Ireland Champion Greer in fourth.

Saturdayโ€™s action was based in and around the mid Antrim area and Doherty said that the stop-start nature of the roads being used would better suit Moffettโ€™s car. By the end of the 6.4-miles of โ€˜Tardreeโ€™, the difference was slashed from 6.8 seconds to just 2.1 by Moffett.
The gap was reduced further on the rerun of โ€˜Tardreeโ€™ to 1.7 seconds by Moffett before hepulled another gear on โ€˜Cairncastle 2โ€™ to move ahead of Doherty for the first time to the tune of four seconds which became three at the finish line in the Slemish countryside.

Greer and McCourt traded third place twice, before the latter cemented the position with a big push over the closing few miles.

Jersey driver Sam Touzel rounded out the top five.

Special K for Eamonn and Rory as Irish team-mates sweep to a historic first in BMW

A round of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship was held in Northern Ireland forthe very first time, with Eamonn Kelly and Rory Kennedy the best of them all.

They got the nose of their BMW M3 E30 in front over the opening miles and never looked back even though they picked up a puncture and briefly lost braking power on the Friday.

Even so, they still ended the leg over a minute up on the identical car of Welsh visitor Tomas Davies, and a further minute to the good over the Subaru Legacy of Irishman Ray Breen. It was a largely similar affair on Saturday as Kelly kept his foot on the noisy pedal to add another forty seconds to his buffer over Davies. Whereas first and second place stayed the same, Alan Ring leapfrogged Breen on the penultimate stage to steal third.

Elsewhere, Jason Black โ€“ in his rear-wheel-drive Toyota Starlet โ€“ was the man to beat in the
Modified category, Aaron Reid prevailed in the Ulster Junior Rally, and Jamie McLaughlin was the sole finisher in the one-make Nissan Micra Challenge support series.

The 50th Modern Tyres Ulster 0Rally arrives at a critical juncture for the NAPA Auto Parts Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, with Josh Moffett and Andy Hayes leading a strong field of competitors on the Ballymena-based event.
Championship leader Moffett heads the entry in his Toyota Yaris Rally2, eight points clear at the top with just two rounds remaining. The eight-point cushion over Eddie Doherty provides a bit of breathing room, but with action on epic stages like Torr Head, Glendun, and Cairncastle set to decide this weekend's spoils, it is going to be a proper Irish Tarmac test.
The Toyota duo arrive at the Ulster in top form after winning Sunday's Monaghan Stages Rally and will be keen to add the Ulster to their extensive list of rally wins.
Moffett's rivals are poised for a final push before September's Cork 20 Rally finale. Eddie Doherty and Tom Murphy arrive as genuine title contenders after their remarkable consistency throughout the season. The Kilkenny crew have yet to win a round in 2026, but a constant string of podium finishes demonstrates the class that has kept them in the hunt for a maiden ITRC title.
Circuit of Ireland Rally winner David Kelly is always a challenger, his breakthrough victory at the Circuit proving he can perform under pressure when it counts and deliver a result on Northern Irish terrain.
Desi Henry, Cathan McCourt, and Sam Touzel all feature this weekend, bringing a mix of Ford and Skoda machinery to the County Antrim countryside. Jersey's Touzel has impressed throughout his Irish Tarmac adventure with consistent pace and stylish driving that has caught the imagination of spectators.
Recently crowned six-time Northern Ireland Rally Championship winner Jonny Greer returns to Irish Tarmac competition in his Yaris Rally2, bringing home knowledge to the event.
Ryan Loughran is another Ulster-based competitor that will be eyeing up a podium finish.

Mitsubishi man Tomas O'Rourke holds a commanding 19-point lead in the McEvoy Motorsport & Flat 2 The Hat Modified ITRC over Mac Walsh entering Ulster. O'Rourke's early-season dominance has proved difficult to challenge, though Walsh's recent fightback has kept the title race alive entering the final two rounds.
Geoffrey Dolan, Darrel Quinn, and Andrew Mackarel have all entered ITRCโ€™s latest round and are joined by challengers from previous years.
Toyota Starlet brothers Jason and Gareth Black are among the top-seeded two-wheel-drive contenders, along with Obanโ€™s Stewart Morrison.
