✨
There was a wee family that lived in a shoe.
With so many children, what is one to do?
They piled out of windows
And burst from the doors.
They sat on the thatched roof,
And crawled on all fours.
Never a moment was there peace and quiet.
Always shouting and whaling,
And making a riot.
People from miles around all came to gawk.
With such a phenomenon, people will talk!

♟️
Come and join our Mayfair club
And challenge me at chess.
It's fun you'll find, to stretch one's mind,
And brain out to excess.
I have a rather high IQ
And if you dare, you'll see,
You need to be, your level best
To try and outwit me.
Your Kings attacked,
Your games been whacked
You're feeling most frustrated.
Oh by golly, terribly sorry
Guess you've been checkmated!

It's that time of year when nights grow near,
And pumpkins come to life.
Crooked grins, the fun begins,
All carved out with a knife.
Pumpkin pie, and pumpkin jam,
And pumpkin ginger soup.
Pumpkin tea, eeew.. not for me.
And pudding, gloopy gloop.
Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins,
Still so many to be carved.
If only I could have some help
Work's better when it's halved.

Stones in my pocket,
And chalk on the street.
Hippity -hoppity- hop, happy feet.
Do you remember when you used to play,
Out on the streets having fun all day?
Life was so simple, and basic was fun,
Marbles, and skipping, and kiss chase,
Run, run!
You're never too old for a hop and a skip,
Hey! Nobody's looking.
I dare you, quick , quick!
✨Over the last ten years I have had the pleasure of working with the The Covent Gardener on various projects.
This latest edition is all about play and so you can imagine how delighted I was when asked to do the cover. Here is a simple hopscotch scene reminiscent of bygone days, although the original idea was a juggling act which was taken in the Piazza . There are in fact two covers as the magazine has doubled up with the The Mayfarer, so I'm looking forward to sharing that with you too.
Thank you to all for your loyal following .

✨
Bless my sisters,
Keep them well.
My mummy daddy too.
Even bless the naughty ones,
That includes me and you.
Help us to be better,
To be thankful every day.
To always try our very best,
Be good and kind I pray.
Tomorrow is another day,
A chance to start again.
To make the most of everything,
Through sunny days or rain.
