Still very much Learning this wonderful Craft that is photography, and i hope ill be forever learning more about it . Starting to experiment a little so you may see some wild life and possibly more unusual images with a little manipulation. With landscape I intentionally tend not to develop a specific look or a mirrored approach to editing, It is what i love the most about photography, ever second creates a unique moment that I never intentionally want to look like another.

I love finding compositions that interest me , that Draw the eye and lead in to the scene . With the such a stupendous show form the Aurora on this magical night .Abandoning the tripod and free hand shooting through the gates of the Vartry reservoir in Co.Wicklow , by all standards, couldn’t be more technically discouraged, but because of the strength of the display , shorter exposure times could be achieved for a chance at a more personal and almost portrait like perspective of an unforgettable night , and hopefully and interesting view for those whose didn’t get to see the display .

A 12 stitch pano was the only way to get in the scale of the Aurora that surround us in frame just a few nights ago . This was a fantastic experience and a far superior outcome than the apps used to track the Aurora suggested . There were so many people around , a unified giddy energy spread through the darkened roads and hills of the Garden of Ireland and I would assume country wide also . I think that may be the bottom left of frame taking in this rare beauty just as so many others were this night .

The sun seemed to set for ever at the north wall on this evening . The view and walk never disappoints . My first flight here ,the winds were high , but this vantage point was just as high as the proved it can handle strong winds .

A short local power outage allowed me to get a few shots of local landmarks with the night sky visible that other wise would be impossible thanks to there being little light pollution. Waiting for an odd car to pass was key in lighting the building . I didn’t want light trails so timing the cars to light without entering the frame was key . It’s a simple scene giving a very unique look by the irony of removing light pollution and adding back in light using long exposure.

Storm Kathleen was really pushing in as I visited the Hill of Tara for the first time . Rain and wind were strong, but with a few breaks in showers here and there. I have to say I was very impressed with the Dji mavic pro 3 for handling the heavy gusts of wind but was even more impressed of the Arial view of Ráith na Rí, the largest monument on Tara, built around 100BC with a circumference of 1000m.

the site became truly significant in the Iron Age (600 BC to 400 AD) and into the Early Christian Period when it rose to supreme prominence – as the seat of the high kings of Ireland.

St Patrick himself went there in the fifth century. As Christianity achieved dominance over the following centuries, Tara’s importance became symbolic. Its halls and palaces have now disappeared and only earthworks remain.

normally shoot super wide to , ironically, to bring me closer to a subject so the camera can really sit on top of the focal point and drag the viewer in but find it works best in portrait orientation. Flip to landscape and it’s about scope and scale . Shot at 12 mm , but about 20mins apart , this image is two blends , to create a split tone narrative image, post and pre sunrise at bullIsland wooden bridge , with the poolbeg towers in plain sight and poolbeg lighthouse peeping it head up in the backdrop.

The Wooden Bridge ( 1820 ) at Clontarf At sunrise . My first time shooting this unique bridge with stunning view of Dublin bay . Popular with walkers, runners and cyclists, it really does have this amazing presence where it’s located .
