I don’t usually share messages I receive after sending sneak peek photos or galleries to my clients. (But) They are so dear to me. I try to take in every word and let it truly land.
Maybe it’s because my journey to becoming a photographer hasn’t been a straight line. I fell in love with this art form when I was a teenager. Back then, I mostly took photos of nature and the landscapes around me. That was my escape—my therapy, my sanctuary. It was precious time alone. I’m an observer, and I loved how much you begin to see when you become still and start listening to the silence.
That was the photography I knew.
Meeting strangers and talking while capturing photos felt scary and very uncomfortable for the introvert in me. But the sense of fulfilment I felt after photographing someone was something I had longed for and searched for over number of years, across different paths, and had never found before.
So yes, even though I was scared, I chose to follow that inner feeling that this is the path I’m meant to take in this life.
You probably don’t even know it, but every message I receive, every kind word, means the world to me, and I don’t take any of it for granted. They are what have been paving the road for me to keep going.
So thank you to each and every one of you I’ve been fortunate enough to cross paths with—those who have believed in me, connected with my work, and kept me going.
As Ram Dass said, “We are all just walking each other home.”♥️
