Golden evenings on the Moycullen bogs over the last few days have created the perfect conditions for photography.

 When the sun drops towards the horizon, the warm golden hour light brought the flowering bog cotton to life. 

This beautiful native Irish wetland plant, long celebrated by Irish poets and writers, becomes even more striking when viewed through a macro lens with a low 2.8 aperture that works well in low light conditions.

The Weeesht scrubs up well in the sun

These shots were captured along the Cleggan cliffs using a full-frame Canon R8 camera as well as  a Kodak WPZ2 underwater camera

In the right weather, the Cleggan coastline is a photographer’s dream.

 The walk along the cliffs is filled with hidden nooks and crannies, dramatic rock formations, and crystal clear Atlantic water that lights up beautifully in the sun.
