A huge thank you to everyone who turned up yesterday for the dance hall images exhibition in the community centre in Miltown.

Thanks so much to Neil, Pádraig and the staff of the community centre, to the musicans, Joe Searson, Frank Healy and his brother and Teresa Hughes Lannon. Thank you to Bethan and Malcom who brought along so many dancers. And a huge thank you to each and every one of those dancers for lifting the spirits on a lovely evening. And thank you to each one of you who arrived on the evening to tell your stories of Michael John and the dance hall days. And last but not least, a huge thank you to the family of Michael John and Clare County Library for allowing us to use these amazing images.
The series, Marty’s Big Picture Show, will air on RTE One every Sunday for six weeks from Sept 3rd, @7.30pm

Looking forward to seeing you all at the exhibition of Michael John’s dance hall images tomorow (Friday 11th) in the community centre in Miltown Malbay.
THIS EVENT WILL BE FILMED FOR A NEW RTE SERIES ABOUT OLD IRSH PHOTO ARCHIVES

It opens at 5pm until 6.30 pm and then we have some local lads providing some music to dance to for half an hour or so.

If you love a bit of social dancing and are ok with being on tv, we would love to see you around 6.15pm 👍

THE EXHIBITION OF MICHAEL JOHN’S OLD DANCE HALL IMAGES WILL TAKE PLACE THIS FRIDAY (11th) in the community centre in Miltown Malbay and we would love to see you all there from 5pm-7.

It is being filmed for Marty’s Big Picture Show on RTE One in Sept.

WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR LOVERS OF WALTZING, JIVING AND SEG DANCING ETC TO COME ALONG AT 6.30PM UNTIL 7PM TO DANCE TO A LOCAL GROUP OF MUSICIANS AS WE FILM THE END OF THE PROGRAMME
