Cheeky Victorians!!

Out walking this morning, I saw a plant I didn't recognise. Turns out its Arum maculatum, or commonly known as Lords & Ladies!

According Wildflowers of Ireland, it gained its name from the Victorian era as a cheeky reference to male (lords) and female (ladies) reproductive parts hidden inside the plant's leafy spathe.

7:00 AM on the East Pier in Dun Laoghaire.

We took a quiet stroll out this morning to walk the Éire Trips trail while the town was still fast asleep. Nobody around except for some runners, some fishermen and the seagulls. The glass-like calm of the water, the salt air, and the incredible textures of history right at our fingertips.

From the intricate iron lacework of the Victorian bandstand to the weathered, rusted iron of the old harbour chains, every detail tells a story. We even saw some squirrels in the park. 🐿️💚

This is the art of slowing down. It’s the exact inspiration behind our new boutique excursion, The Quiet Frame. A 3-hour immersive walk designed to help you engage your senses, connect with the landscape through your camera lens, and unwind over tea, scones and a friendly chat.

Unhurried. 🌊📸
