I have a penchant for pleats

And the thinginess of fabric sounds

Susurration - a beautiful word for a soft whispering or murmuring noise, including that of wind in trees, water, or fabric

Huge gratitude to for this memorable commission - to make a photographic record of the archiving of the 400 year old garment collection of the Parsons family at Birr Castle,

Mary’s hands with Bog cotton, Bearna, Co.Galway 2025

To mark 15 years of The Garden, founder Mark Grehan is hosting an exhibition at his Powerscourt Townhouse shop in Dublin. Titled ‘Bog’, the show brings together the work of artists and craftspeople to explore the bog as both material and metaphor.

Rooted in Mark’s personal connection to the boglands of Bearna and West Galway, the exhibition invited us to reflect on what we keep, what surfaces, and what lies beneath. Bogs - natural archives of memory and time - preserve and protect, much like the practices of making and craft.

This two-week exhibition celebrates work that echoes the bog’s quiet power - rooted in time, place, and the enduring presence of craft.

Bravo to for curating and bringing it all together

Amo Kilfeather, weaver, Donegal 2025

Am beyond proud of this one. My sister, and best friend - Amo (Anne Marie), standing strong, on the lake at Glenveagh in the county of Donegal, holding one of her woven creations, inspired by the very landscape she stands in. The essence of integrity, made with wool from Irish sheep, spun here in Donegal and hand woven by Amo
What a joy it was to be commissioned by the wonderful .press to collaborate with Amo for their 13th issue. We spent a glorious few sunshiney days gaylording about the hills of Donegal - making pictures and finding words - to try and portray how special and unique Amo’s work is.
So much more to share about this - but for now - treat yourself to a copy of Faire - am beyond humbled at the incredible work of all of the featured artists.
Huge gratitude to for her ever giving huge heart, her nurturing soul and her belief in all of us dreamers ✨

W O R K S H O P shoutout 📢

This is Bonnie.

Bonnie is a Scottish name.

This Bonnie is not Scottish.

I’ve been shooting with Bonnie since she was wee.

Bonnie is not wee anymore, she is tall now.

Bonnie is coming with me to the Scottish highlands for Workship V with and

We’ll make portraits there.

There might be kilts involved.

Bonnie’s mother Ruth will bring kilts - so they’ll be cool kilts - not twee kilts.

Although I do like a twee kilt too.

We’ll stay in this big house.

We’ll explore the Scottish landscape with our cameras and feed our creative souls (obligatory workshop speak)

Haggis will not be mandatory.

Whiskey will be.

You’ll learn a lot about how I make pictures.

You’ll learn a lot about how I work with light.

You’ll learn a lot about why I make pictures.

Join us - it’ll be Bonnie
