6 Oct 24 / Brooklodge & Macreddin Village
October 6th was a day that promised much, and it all began in the mist-shrouded beauty of Macreddin. As always, the venue exceeded expectations with its well-organized, attentive staff. That morning, Nicola Weldon, the makeup artist, worked her magic. The day, however, didn’t begin as smoothly as one might have hoped. The skies were heavy with rain, and a dense fog clung to the landscape. We feared the weather would keep us indoors, away from the picturesque outdoor shots we had planned. Our backup? A handful of umbrellas and the hope that luck would turn our way.
Then, almost like the flick of a switch, after the ceremony, the clouds parted, and sunlight bathed the hills in a warm glow. It was as if the universe itself had been waiting for this moment to give its blessing.
But amidst all the beauty, one small, strange detail stood out. As we finished capturing a few intimate shots in Macreddin’s quaint little pub, something curious happened. The bride stepped out, radiant as ever, when someone pointed to her dress. There, sticking just below the hem of her gown, was a small sticker. “Dreams come true,” it read in simple, blocky letters.
No one could explain where it had come from. The bride laughed, brushing it off as a coincidence, but there was something about it that lingered. Was it just a forgotten remnant from the pub? A joke left behind by the last patrons? Or perhaps... something else?
As the day unfolded perfectly from that moment on, there was a sense of quiet wonder among us all. The sticker may have just been a whimsical accident, or maybe, just maybe, it was a sign—one of those rare moments where the universe whispers something it knows, but we don’t yet understand.
Whatever the truth, one thing was certain: on that day, in that misty, magical place, dreams *did* come true.
