A lovely little video posted by the Irish Consulate capturing lots of the fun we had at James Joyce’s annual celebratory ‘wake’ in France last week:

Happy Bloomsday from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and most particularly from Saint-Gérand-le-Puy! A little-known fact: James Joyce spent two years here during World War II. The village proudly keeps his memory alive with a museum and plaques marking his daily life, including the spot where he strolled ea...

Very blessed and happy to be visiting the James Joyce Museum in St. Gerand-le-Puy, where his family (and other artists and writers including Beckett) found refuge, for a year in 1940. I’m thrilled to be exhibiting a selection of prints from collages; some of course with Hisself in the “WHAT’S WRONG? with The Consolations of Genius…” series and a few IRELANTIS, in the company of digital collagist Orlaith Mayet and ‘real’ Dubliner & photographer Colm Pierce. On this wonderful break in this beautiful place; my dear friend and marvellous painter Cecilia Lia Laimbock rescued a lucky beetle from the swimming pool; we sat beside the delightful statue of The Prophet-King Extraordinaire; I browsed their very good little JJ library and felt lucky indeed to look out on Square James Joyce. Back in slightly less sunny Dublin shortly to intently again on one or two interesting forthcoming books you will hear much more about.. Merci! to all for great hospitality.

THRILLED to be giving a little talk today Sunday at 12 noon at the super Dublin Street Photography Festival over the weekend, joining exhibitors from here and far for a very convivial get-together and series of events.
I’m also very lucky and pleased to have an outdoor exhibition panel with about 20 of my ‘Troubles’-era photos.
