The Golden Gate of Kyiv
We were lucky enough to have a trip to Kiev in the Ukraine way back in February, before we went into lockdown.

This is an image of the Golden Gate, which was the main gate in the 11th century fortifications of Kyiv. The original structure was dismantled in the Middle Ages and was rebuilt completely by the Soviet authorities in 1982, even though no images of the original gate had survived. The decision has been immensely controversial because there were many competing ideas of what the original gate might have looked like.

I'm now dreaming of being allowed to travel again!
