In April I swapped out the FSQ106 for the 1m focal length TEC140. It’s a great combo for the full frame Apx60 with the pixel size. It’s brings smaller galaxies into play. For first light, here is M100. Very down and dirty quick process but it’s opened up a new avenue for me. 13hrs LRGB and still testing the new set up. Lots of teething problems but I m up and running.

Finally got a picture worthy of the Kerry Dark Reserve great skies. Four pane mosaic from inside Staigue Fort. Not quite what I was trying to shoot but it was too windy to do my first idea. So I took shelter behind the North wall to get the Milky Way rising. Sky is tracked and stacked 24mins per pane at 1000 ISO, F/2.8, 24mm, while the foreground is two 2min exposures as the sky started to brighten in the morning blue hour.

I ll be exhibiting all day at the annual Galway Astronomy Festival on Saturday in the Ardilaun hotel. Drop in and check out my huge Milky Way Arch mosaics framed.
