I may have left this page alone for a while but here's one from this morning at Skerries.

On the horizon here is Shenick Island with Martello Tower - central to the "seaweed war" that begun in 1878 between the farmer of Rush and the landlord of Skerries at the time.

A few shots from Saturday at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Drogheda. An unbelievable atmosphere in the town - so great to see it - I'll make sure to be around for the whole week next year!

From the photos I've seen, it seems like the sky across all of Ireland lit up in colour around sunset on Monday including here at Skerries.
In view from left to right is Shenick Island (the largest of Skerries' uninhabited islands) with Martello Tower, Lambay Island & the headland just by Loughshinny. Easily some of the best light I've seen.

I find it really interesting to watch a rain shower gradually approaching from the sea and then sweep over the land. Shelter was definitely needed when this one reached me!

- First Adventure -

It was an added bonus to be in the Black Valley when there were plenty of lambs just a week or two old. Most of them stayed close to their mothers in the beautiful surrounds. This lamb decided to go for a wander.
