End of Season Dinner - 30th May 2026
Drogheda Photographic Club held their end of season dinner on the 30th May 2026 at The Thatch Donore Road Drogheda.
A large turn out of members enjoyed the meal and the presentation of awards.

Much fun was had throughout the evening. It was a great way to round off a very positive season.
Members will continue with various activities over the Off Season and look forward to our new programme of events for 26/27.

20th FIAP World Cup for Clubs 2025
Chris Costello Club Member and Club Treasurer travelled to Edinburgh on 30th May 2026 to receive the FIAP Silver Medal and Certificate for the club’s third place in the FIAP World Cup for Clubs 2025.
The presentation took place in the premises of the Edinburgh Photographic Society, who hosted the FIAP representatives.

Irish Photographic Federation National Club Championships 2026
The weekend of 23rd & 24th May 2026 saw a celebration of Irish Club photography at the National Club Championships in Mullingar.
The standard throughout was exceptionally high and a credit to all the many clubs that entered.
Drogheda Photographic Club was placed first overall, with first place in the mono section and joint second in the colour section.
Individual awards went to members Joanne Halligan LIPF, AFIAP (Gold), Gabriel O’Shaughnessy FIFP, FRPS, MFIAP,EFIAP/d1, PFIAP (Honourable Mention), Peter Adams FIPF, DPAGB, BPE5*, EFIAP/b, PFIAP (Judges Choice), John Sheridan FIPF, AFIAP (Judges Choice).
All at Drogheda Photographic Club are delighted with this result. Thank you to our Chairperson Gabriel O’Shaughnessy for leading us to this success. This result is the outworking of the hard work, effort, enjoyment and camaraderie at the heart of this community club, and a credit to every member the club.
Many congratulations to all the other Clubs that entered, particularly Catchlight Camera Club second place and Dublin Camera Club third place.

Peter Slattery Memorial Award - Chris Costello AIPF - 21st May 2026

Drogheda Photographic Club are pleased to announce that Club Member and Treasurer Chris Costello has been awarded the Irish Photographic Federation’s Peter Slattery Memorial Award.

The Club’s nomination for the award was approved by the IPF’s Council. The award was presented by Chairperson Gabriel O’Shaughnessy FIPF, FRPS, MFIAP, EFIAP/p, PFIAP, ESFIAP at the Club’s Annual General Meeting, 21st May 2026.

Chris has been a long standing member of Drogheda Photographic Club and has been Club Treasurer for many years. This award is in recognition for his outstanding contribution, service and commitment to the Club over the years.

Annual General Meeting - 21st May 2026
The Club’s Annual General Meeting was held in the Clubhouse on Thursday 21st May 2026.

The election of Committee Members was duly completed.

Model Shoot 15th - 17th May 2026 - Gemma Huh

Travelling Model Gemma Huh, flew in from London to join us at Drogheda Photographic Club's clubhouse over the weekend of 15th - 17th May.

Members enjoyed the opportunity of participating in the sessions,
bringing their individual flair and imagination with different outfits and props.

Gemma is a fabulous model, very professional and hard working. It was a pleasure to shoot with her.

A big thank you to club/committee members Yvonne Crawley and Pat Burke for sourcing such an excellent model and organising the three day shoot.

Guest Speaker Joanne (Jo) Murphy 14th May 2026

Drogheda Photographic Club were delighted to welcome Jo Murphy, as our guest speaker this evening.

Jo is an award-winning food and lifestyle photographer with over 20 years’ experience capturing the quiet magic of food, through texture, light, and detail. She has photographed over 60 leading cookbooks and has had the privilege of collaborating with some of Ireland’s best food stylists, prop stylists, and Art Directors.
Her work spans advertising, branding, packaging, books, and social media, helping businesses bring their food stories to life.
Her approach combines a deep understanding of food culture and trends with a strong creative instinct, always aiming to create images that feel fresh, honest, and full of life.

Jo presented a selection of stunning images in her talk, demonstrating her passion for photography. It was fabulous to get an insight into the work that Jo undertakes.

An extremely inspirational and thought provoking talk which the members thoroughly enjoyed.
