I don’t know what did it, but i just fell in love with these guys a few years back ! Made the hubby take me all the way to Scotland to see them in person…. I’ve since discovered my local petting farm also had some 😂😂😂 go figure!

~The Old Church Dunlewey~

The Old Church Dunlewey stands on lough Dunlewey overlooked by Mount Errigal, Donegal’s highest Mountain.

Jane Smith Russell had the church built as a memorial to her husband, James Russell, who was landlord of the Dunlewey Estate. He died on the 2nd of September 1848 and was laid to rest in a vault under the church floor.

The church was built of white marble and blue quartzite which was quarried locally. The red brick in the arches was also supplied locally too.

All in all, this beauty was one of my favourite locations while staying in Donegal, I visited it more than once during my stay. It has an eery feeling about it, and yet with it’s location also has a really relaxing calming feeling too.

~ Ballymastocker Bay (AKA Portsalon Beach) ~

Portsalon Beach is located on the north eastern side of Fanad Also known as Ballymastocker Bay, Portsalon is a beautiful Blue Flag beach with long stretches of sand for rambling, clear water to swim in, plenty of waves for the surfers and sheltered coves for escaping the wind. The beach is approximately 1.5km long.

The Observer once voted Portsalon as the world’s second most beautiful beach ♥️
