The mighty Assaranca Waterfall near the village of Ardara is arguably one of most impressive waterfalls in Donegal.

Often referred to as Ardara Waterfall or Eas a’ Ranca, these beautiful falls are easily accessible and they’re generally pretty quiet.

You can, quite literally, park up right next to them and soak up (hopefully not literally) the sights and sounds of Assaranca from a few feet away

Donegal boardwalk is located at the bottom of Sheephaven bay.

There is a large car park and a restaurant to take coffee, ice cream, or lunch. In the beginning, a small but very cute playground keeps children busy and warms them up for fun.

It is about a 20-25 minute easy short walk through the dunes suitable for any age and fitness level. It is great for buggies, scooters, and wee bikes. Dogs are also allowed.

In the end, you find yourself at the large sandy Carrigart beach with a stunning view of Downings, Ards Friary, and the open ocean.

It is just a short 10 minute drive from the camp, this is the perfect place to explore, relax and reflect.

The friary is home to the Franciscan Capuchin Order who bring a nurturing, spiritual presence to the land they care for and the visitors they welcome year round.

Enjoy a coastal walk to Lady Isobella’s beach and the stunning Lucky Shell beach – a must see for anyone visiting the area.

There are also a number of other tranquil walks and the friary’s “Coffee Dock” is the perfect place to enjoy lunch, snack or coffee.

Ballymastocker Beach, Portsalon, Co Donegal.

Ballymastocker Beach, also known as Portsalon Beach, is a stunning beach located on the Fanad Peninsula in County Donegal, Ireland. It is known for its crystal clear waters, soft golden sand, and breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and coastline.

The beach is approximately 3.2 km long and is backed by sand dunes that are home to a variety of wildlife, including rabbits and birds. It is also a popular spot for swimming, surfing, kayaking, and fishing.

Ballymastocker Beach has been voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by numerous publications, including The Observer and The Irish Times. The beach was also used as a filming location for the movie "The Secret of Roan Inish."

Lloyds Signal Tower, Malin Head, Co Donegal.

The stone tower here was built in 1805 as a Napoleonic lookout, later used by Lloyd's of London to relay shipping news and by Marconi for the first commercial wireless transmission in 1902. The interior is closed, but the windswept vantage point over the Atlantic is the real draw. This is officially Ireland's most northerly point on the mainland.

Castle Bridge, Buncrana.

The omnipresent symbol of Buncrana, Castle (Crana) Bridge is a six arched stone bridge leading to Buncrana Castle, built by George Vaughan in 1718; now a private dwelling. The original town of Buncrana was citied by the castle but was subsequently moved by Vaughan to the present day main street. The bridge is located at the entrance to Swan Park which is a much loved amenity, ideal for leisurely river walks.
