Moon Rise at the Watch Tower, Ram Head, Ardmore, Co Waterford.
The Napoleonic Era Watch Tower on Ram Head was built about 1804-1806 as part of an early warning system designed to protect Ireland from potential French invasion. It has apparently, recently been sold.
I was all set up early and ready to go but slightly out of place, as it turned out, when the moon appeared over the cliff top. I had to move about 20m fairly quickly and recompose !
There was so much cloud around I was lucky to get a narrow band of clearish sky. In the end, the moon was visible for about 6 minutes before it disapeared behind a layer of clouds just above the tower.
