The sea is pretty wild lately... and it was when we went out. A big swell outside and simply choppy in the Blasket sound.. Where ever we went the sea was empty... no schools of fish anywhere, and you see no seabirds or dolphins there but there was some fish in the Sound and the Common Dolphins were there chasing their possible meals.... All in all a lovely trip on our Di**le Flamingle Explorer with Captain Rudi

Such a funny moment as two puffins looked in surprise as the rasorbill beside them.... He was not supposed to be there.. Soon there were 4 puffins watching him and a bit later a bunch of them held a gathering discussing the stranger in their midst...

Finally we got out chance for a first trip this year after the very long winter.. It was about time.... Of course it was great to see the Common Dolphins again. We also saw a handful of puffins as they have not really arrived yet. Fulmas and seagulls were nesting.. Great to be out in the blue again.

I know it is only January... and its cold... but we are really looking forward to springtime again and to hopefully see many puffins this year. We saw more puffins on the water this last summer than nesting on land.. compared to the year before.
