At long last... after all the ups and downs, delays and even a pandemic, my Deluxe Bundle has finally arrived! I can't wait to start attaching the modules and loading this up with pure nostalgia and trying out systems like the Saturn and PCengine that I've never tried before.

This is a great day 🥳

𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗢𝗕𝗜 | 𝗠𝗘𝗚𝗔 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 | 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟵

No would be complete without the classic, Revenge of Shinobi/Super Shinobi!

A true classic that set a very high bar for the games that would follow in the early days of the Sega Mega Drive.

Great and sometimes challenging gameplay combined with impressive visuals, dangerous environments, and vicous enemies. It's one of those games where you have to learn your way through a stage with multiple attempts before you can master it entirely.

And to cap it all off, the game is tied together with one of the most legendary 16-BIT soundtracks of all time by composer Yuzo Koshiro. Before you even press START, he sets the tone that perfectly covays the game's atmosphere and immerses you in the world you are about to explore.

Whether you play it or just listen to the spundtrack, I urge anyone to experience the masterpiece that is Revenge of Shinobi/Super Shinobi.

Yoshi's Island has been one of those games I've waited to play on real hardware, so it's purposely evaded me until now.

Theme Park I got free as part of a bundle.

Very happy to get these two and to finally be abke to play Yoshi's Island after all these years.

I've never owned/played a Saturn before, and as I'm due delivery (eventually) of a , I can finally delve into this whole new system to me head on. I have picked out some of the best the system has to offer as well as some just for my personal taste.

As an addition, I picked up Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine SuperCD, a system I have no familiarty with at all, so looking forward to breaking new ground with this one.

I've been meaning to cross off some heavy hitters and 2 of them arrived at once ❤️

Always wanted to play Metal Gear on original NES hardware!

New Ghostbusters 2 I've wanted to try for years, huge fan of the GameBoy version growing up, so can't wait to try it out!

Finally found a copy in great condition (thanks to my brother), now my PS1 TEKKEN Trilogy is complete!

𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗡 | 𝗠𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 | 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟭

Happy to one of the true 16-BIT greats and one of the best arcade games of any era,

It still stands as one of the most iconic racers ever made along with one of the best soundtracks that you could ever hope to drive to.

So many fond memories of playing the arcade cabinet version of this, just seeing the title screen puts a smell and place in my head from my childhood trips to the FunFair where this cabinet would be.

at its best!

Before Sonic the Hedgehog became a household name, released one of my favorite little platformers, !

As a kid, I was absolutely captivated by this enchanting game. The vibrant colors, the captivating sounds, and the whimsical story and setting all came together to create something I still look back at with great fondness.

As a child, It transported me into a mystical world, it felt like I was playing a Mickey Mouse cartoon and I got to embarked on an epic adventure to save Minnie Mouse, from the wicked Witch.

I'll never forget exploring the imaginative levels, seeing all of those the colourful backdrops, the music making these places come alove and just that Disney magic coming alive on screen.

While later Disney games would build on and better this style, Castle of Illusion will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️

𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗔𝗚𝗘 | 𝗠𝗘𝗚𝗔 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 | 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟭

One of the all-time best side scrolling beat'em ups of the 16-BIT era, The gameplay is fast-paced and addictive, with smooth controls and satisfyingly crunchy sound effects.

But what sets this game apart from others in the beat'em up genre is its incredible soundtrack. Composed by Yuzo Koshiro, the music perfectly captures the gritty, urban vibe of the game and features a mix of electronic, dance, and funk music.

Streets of Rage is not only a beloved classic but also a game that has stood the test of time. It's still just as fun to play today as it was back in 1991. And let's not forget about its sequels, Streets of Rage 2 and 3, which are widely considered to be even better.

Streets of Rage is a must-own title for any gamer our there, if you haven't played it yet, fix that and give this gem a try.

This was the first 3D game I ever saw running in real time, coming from the 16-BIT era into the sights & sounds of was like touching the future. I don't think people today understand how much of a jump forward the was...

If you're a fan of the game studio Revolution Software like me, you need to check out 'REVOLUTION: The Quest for Game Development Greatness, An incredible journey through the history and development of some of my all time favorite games like 1 & 2, , and more, plus insights and stories of the studio that made them.

Congrats to and Warriner for this amazing book and successful . So happy to finally have this in my hands ❤️

🎮 : City Under Siege (1990)

ESWAT was one of my very first 16-BIT experiences and it still holds a big place in my heart today. I always thought the design of the game, the levels, enemies, boss fights, and the cutscenes looked great (even now) with a good level of detail, use of colour and exection of tone in each stage. Hell, even the music is iconic of the time making brilliant use of the MegaDrives limited capabilites, it in some ways outdid a lot of games that came after in that regard.

For an early era MegaDrive game they really were pushing the new tech with this to see what it was capable of. It could have been just a simple port of the arcade original but they put together a game that I think stands higher than the coin-op iteration and that puts ESWAT in very rare company indeed.

It's a bit simple by today's standards, although the difficult does ramp up very quickly, but if you have a game genie and a spare hour I highly recommend what I think is an underrated gem.

(Also, the Box/Cartridge Art is one of my personal favourites. It screams of late 80s/early 90s and I love it.)
