The results of my yellow self portraits 🌻💛🐥🌼🍋

I like to challenge myself all the time. If something feels a bit scary, I know it’s something I have to do. That’s where the magic happens. That’s how I’m growing into the woman I know I want to be. All I need is an extra one percent of courage every day.

On the day of this self-portrait photoshoot, I drove around Northern Ireland looking for a quiet spot surrounded by yellow bushes. I felt as if I were about to jump off a cliff. My body felt so scared, as if there was immediate danger. Luckily I could calm myself down and I told my body that there was actually no danger. I told myself that I wasn’t going to die, and that the worst thing that could happen was a farmer asking me to leave his land.

And that didn’t even happen! I had a gorgeous morning on my own. It made me feel very empowered, and I’m so happy with the results 🥰

My view of life is that the world would be a much better place if we celebrated ourselves more. We truly have to be our own best friends, and then we can share all that beautiful, juicy overflow with the people around us.
shakira decided to do exactly that for her birthday. We had the lovely with us in the studio to create this gorgeous blue make-up look 💙💙
