You do not need to know how to pose for wedding photos.

Seriously.

You don't need to practice in the mirror. You don't need to know what to do with your hands. And you definitely don't need to suddenly become a professional model because you're getting married.

That's my job. 😂

I'll give you enough direction that you never feel like you're standing there awkwardly wondering what you're supposed to do.

But I'll also leave plenty of room for you to just be together.

Because some of my favorite photographs aren't the perfectly posed ones.

They're the ones where you forgot I was there for a second.

I have a theory that the best wedding photos happen when nobody is trying to make a wedding photo.

You're laughing.
You're crying.
You're dancing.
You're completely distracted by your favorite people.

And I'm over here quietly taking 47 pictures of it. 😂

Okay, but can we talk about this reception for a minute?

Because the Blue Label Band was INCREDIBLE.

They had everyone up, the dance floor was packed, and their set list was so perfectly suited to the bride and groom. You could tell they had put thought into choosing a band that actually felt like *them*.

And this is exactly why I love receptions. Give me a packed dance floor, a good band, and a bunch of people who are not afraid to have a little fun, and I am very happy behind my camera. 😂

Some wedding days are quiet and romantic. Some are a full-on PARTY.

I like both. 🤷‍♀️

Okay, here's a little wedding planning tip that can save you SO much stress:

Don't build your entire wedding day timeline around your ceremony time. 😂

I know it's tempting to start with, “Our ceremony is at 4, so everything else just works backward from there.”

But there are a LOT of little things that can pop up before you ever get to the aisle. Hair and makeup taking a little longer than expected, getting dressed, a first look, family photos, wedding party photos, travel time, an impromptu toast, or maybe just a few extra minutes for you two to slow down and actually take in the fact that YOU'RE MARRIED.

This is one of the reasons I love helping my couples with their timelines. We can figure out where you actually need time, where we can move things around, and where it's worth leaving a little wiggle room.

Because I don't want you spending your entire wedding day looking at the clock and rushing from one thing to the next.

I want you to have time to laugh, hug your people, soak it all in and actually be there.

Trust me, future married-you will be very glad you left some wiggle room. 🥹

The nerves are gone.

They’re married!!!

M & Z’s Gramercy Mansion wedding was everything a wedding day should be: full of laughter, happy tears, sweet moments, and so much love.

From the moment the day started to the very last celebration, it was so clear how much these two are loved. And getting to be there to capture those little in-between moments was such a gift.

I’m still riding the high from this one and cannot wait to share more from their beautiful day.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs.! 🥂🤍

This is such a beautiful reminder of why I do what I do. 🤍

Of course, I love creating beautiful images for my couples, but the part that means the most is knowing they felt comfortable, cared for, and completely themselves while I was there.

When someone tells me I helped a quiet couple shine, that they felt supported throughout the planning process, and that they’re grateful I was part of their story, that’s when I know I’ve done my job well.

The photos are the tangible piece they get to keep forever, but the trust, the connection, and the experience along the way are just as important.

So grateful for every couple who lets me step into such a meaningful chapter of their lives. 🤍

Funnily enough my editing queue is on pause right now so I’m taking full advantage of this little lull before things get crazy again.

I had my front porch sessions this past weekend and they were SO fun. Think chickens running around at one house and an impromptu dance recital at another 😂 These sessions are always such a fun glimpse into every individual family and I honestly love getting to feel like a tiny part of the family for a little while:)

We finally got my brother moved out to Richmond for his new job! Pray he does well and finds his niche because I’m really excited for this next stepping stone in his life. Moving was a…experience. Yes. That is what we will call it 😂 BUT I got a sweet furry visitor out of the deal and Delilah got her best friend back for a sleepover so all is well.

I also got to go back to Longwood!!! Ever since they implemented their new policies I haven’t been able to do nearly as many sessions there so this felt like such a treat. And the couple was SO sweet and fun!

And honestly? The new policy is entirely worth it. At first I was not too keen on basically having a babysitter while I tried to create magic 😂 but Sharon was THE BEST. She knew exactly what was blooming, shooed away crowds, saved us so much time and genuinely helped the flow of everything. And then when the heat started getting to us she pushed my cart 😭 How sweet is that?? I always knew I loved Longwood but now I’m hopelessly devoted.

There’s also a lot happening behind the scenes right now but in just two short weeks I’ll officially be moving and grooving every weekend again. Virginia, Brookside Gardens, then up to OC and honestly I can’t wait. It’s going to be such a full season in the best way and I’m really excited for all the love and stories I get to be part of.
