A gateway… to nowhere.
These towers were built to impress,
but the vision behind them was never finished.
Now they stand alone —
quiet, mysterious, and almost unreal.

1 or 2?
Same place, same moment… but a different feeling.
One shows the land.
The other shows the atmosphere.
I keep going back and forth between them…

Which one speaks to you more -1 or 2?

EIRE 31 - Sheep`s Head co Cork

Eighty-three giant stone signs spelling “EIRE” were placed along the Irish coastline during World War II.

Their purpose was simple - to let pilots know they were flying over neutral territory.
Ireland remained neutral throughout the war, and these markings served as a clear message from the ground -this is Ireland.

Today, many of these signs still remain, quietly embedded in the landscape.

Staigue Fort, County Kerry
One of the most impressive ancient structures in Ireland.
Staigue Fort was built about two thousand years ago, long before Christianity came to Ireland.

Massive stone walls, up to six metres high, were built without mortar and still stand today among the dramatic landscapes of Kerry.

Once these walls protected a chieftain, his family, warriors and servants.
Today only the stones remain, together with a powerful sense of Ireland’s ancient past.

This is one of those places where history feels very close.
