Over the years I have pretty much documented my kids entire childhood, and most of their teenage years, from the day they were born I pretty much had a camera in my hand and focused on them.

I probably photographed, every event, every school trip, every birthday, pool parties, every holiday, every Christmas, autumn walks or just gathering leaves, building snowmen or sleigh rides.

Remember I'm Generation X so we didn't have camera phones, I had a real camera!! So in our house, we have boxes of photos and lots and lots of albums (which are fun to go through, so print your photos!)

Yes I was THAT mum!!

Then my kids avoided the camera for years, probably because they were dramatized by me chasing after them with a camera!! (I get it)

So yes, their is a little bit of satisfaction when my kids ask me to photograph them!!

This is Tara Gartlan Chocolate's first Advent Calendar/25 Days of Chocolate! Tara's dream, her design, a sketch and an idea brought to life by her designer Erin Smith. I cant with to see what her next chocolate idea is!

I know I'm biased but I think it's so luxurious, This is possibly the nicest Advent Calendar I've seen. I'm proud that Tara sources all her ingredients from ethical sourced and local ingredients, sourced from Irish suppliers.

Maybe I'll get one for Christmas!

Yeah, I'm a proud mum and delighted to help her any way I can, and I especially love it when she asks me to take her photo!!

Recently, I shared some photos on my Instagram page that I took for Tara Gartlan Chocolate, not of her chocolates but of these amazing 'Brown Butter Cakes' that she bakes.

They look like a simple an unassuming bun, but far from it, one bite and you realize that these are no ordinary bake! Slightly crispy outside, a little bit salty, a little bit sweet, a little bit nutty and fudgy.

One bite and you are hooked! I hope I did them justice. 📸

One of the fun things about being a part of Carrickmacross Camera Club is our annual Christmas photography shoot!

Last weekend I met a very busy man in a red suit, who took time out of his hectic schedule to pose for photos with some of the children of Carrickmacross.

When I was growing up the guy in the red suit came down the chimney! ... But now seemingly Santa has a magic key that only works on Christmas eve, cos these days some houses don't have chimneys! The things we learn!

The amazing set and sleigh was built by a club member, designed and painted by another club member with a little help from a few others, we have a very talented group of people in our club, I'm so lucky to be a part of Carrickmacross Camera Club.

Thrilled to have featured in last weeks competition at the Carrickmacross Camera Club! Even more special that Tara Gartlan Chocolate made the cool black cake for me as the theme was 'Dark'.
Our judge was very generous giving six images 5 out of 5!

Club Competition, top scoring images in the Advanced Theme Competition were front row: Angela Gartlan, Dalia Guzauskaite, and Brian Byrne. Back row Breda McGuigan, guest judge Julie Corcoran Conceptual Photographer and Jim Carolan. The theme was Dark. Well done!
