My mother-in-law passed away today. As is tradition (along with my grandfather, and Tony my father-in-law) I like to put some memories together to look back on. When I first met Mary, she was the stereotypical Irish mammy – constantly pottering about in the kitchen, always looking after everyone e...

It's time for my annual facebook post! 😂😂

A small selection of some of my favourite photographs from 2023.

(and some bonus whistling - multi-talented!)

2023. It’s difficult to summarise an entire year in a few minutes, but nevertheless here is a collection of some of my favourite moments from 2023. As always, for the most part everything on the day is as it happened. Documentary. Apart from family photographs and some portraits of the couple, my...

"Kevin could appear in his own Marvel comic at this stage" - featured in the Limerick Leader this week....

FOR the first time in this series we feature two photographers from the same family. Bridie Murphy graced this page last August and now it is the turn of her son, Kevin, to showcase his talent. Born in Carrickerry in West Limerick, Kevin moved to Clare 15 years ago and lives in Cratloe with his wife...

2020. It was a year like no other. Personally and professionally it was a tough year, but there were a lot of positives along the way.

Even though I photographed less weddings this year, each one was like a little victory. Every couple had to jump through some extra hoops, deal with more uncertainty, have a little more courage and be a bit more flexible to get married – but overcoming the hurdles made it all the sweeter. Some guests were there in spirit, others on zoom, facebook live and even cardboard cuts outs. Friends showed up in the pouring rain and travelled cross country in the snow just to give a socially distanced wave of support. It was without doubt the most emotional year I’ve ever experienced.

Thank you to each and every person who had me there to photograph such a milestone in your life. It’s always a privilege to witness weddings – but it was even more so this year when it was just me and a handful of family and friends. If you were part of my 2020 in any way – thank you.

“We’re in this together”

2020 was a year like no other. But, in amongst the face masks and hand sanitiser and elbow bumps was a celebration of overcoming and prevailing and love.

After judging by 40+ international judges I’ve somehow slipped through to be a finalist of the IPPVA awards! Here's a link to the photographs that got me on the shortlist for the best Creative Wedding Photographer and best Documentary Photographer. It’s always nice when judges give recognition, but the best part for me is that each of these couples also chose these photographs for their own wedding albums. Thanks for having me there and putting your trust in me!

Sean and Amy’s wedding was wild! From a red weather warning to losing electricity in the hotel, but, like every wedding, the people made it and it was one of the most enjoyable weddings I’ve photographed. Check it out, along with their story on Evoke...

For most couples, a status red storm on their wedding day would be deemed a disaster but Sean and Amy took it in their stride.

Jen and Seán - started the day with a swim in the lake and finished with a party overlooking it. It was one of those days where everything came together - happy people, great weather, gardens bursting with colour, amazing food and all around craic! Read their experience over on Evoke...

You could say this week's newlyweds Jen and Seán are childhood sweethearts, having met in fifth year when Jen moved schools.

2019.

(Nothing like a global pandemic forcing everyone to stay at home to give me time to finally put together my Best Of 2019 slideshow! 😂)

As always, a massive thanks to everyone who trusted me to be there to photograph one of the most exciting days of their life. Thanks to every family for welcoming me into your home, maybe a little wary at first but soon realising I’m there to enjoy it too. Thank you to every mother who offered me a cup of tea, every father who rolled their eyes at the salon their home had become and disappeared to the sanctuary of their shed, every bridesmaid and groomsman who was willing to have a bit of fun. Every flower girl and page boy who decided to do things their way – whether that was being a princess or throwing a tantrum – just be you kiddo!

Turn up the volume and enjoy!
