25 North Wall Quay is an IPUT building on Dublin’s quays, transformed through a major redevelopment of the existing waterfront offices.

The eight-storey atrium is the real centrepiece. Flooded with natural light, it combines beautifully crafted timber joinery, sculptural staircases and lovely curved forms throughout. It was one of those spaces where strong compositions seemed to appear in every direction.

Grand Canal Harbour is a large residential development in Dublin 8, close to the Guinness Storehouse, combining new architecture with the historic industrial character of the site.

There are some lovely details throughout, but the exposed V-shaped concrete supports are the standout for me. Combined with the water and reflections, they create some particularly strong views through the development.

An architectural photography commission at the Central Administration Building, Grange Castle.

Some projects are just a pleasure to photograph. This was one of them.

The exterior has a strong, angular form that comes alive in direct sunlight, with sharp shadows giving real definition to the building. Inside, the atmosphere is warmer and more human, with timber, planting, curved forms, rust-toned finishes and beautifully detailed joinery.

I was commissioned by COADY Architects, Flynn and Winthrop to photograph the project, covering both the completed interior fit-out and the building in its wider setting.

Interior fit-out design: Coady Architects
Shell and core: Donnelly Turpin Architects
Multidisciplinary support: Arup
Delivered by: Flynn - Construction Managers & Contractors and Winthrop Technologies

I'm almost ready for Art Evolve this weekend in the RDS, Dublin. I will be at Stand 10, and I’m bringing some new work with me that I’m very excited to show.

This piece, Held Between Tide and Sky, was made on Baltray Beach, close to home. It shows the old shipwreck after dusk, with the full moon in the distance. The whole scene felt quiet, calm, and slightly unreal, which is exactly what drew me to it.

If you’re heading to the fair, do pop in and say hello. I’m always glad to have a chat and help people find the right artwork for a home or office.

If you’d like an e-invite, just DM me your email address.

Some photographs ask to be made one way, and then finished another.

This was taken at Rinn Point in County Donegal on a very bright sunny day in September. I had first noticed the rock formations when I was heading to photograph Largy Waterfall, and they stayed in my mind, so I came back another day to make work there properly.

Because the light was so harsh, I leaned into that and turned the image towards something much darker and more atmospheric. I wanted it to feel almost like a moonless night scene, quiet and stark, with the pale water holding its own against the weight of the land. I also love that Sligo, my native county, is visible in the distance across the horizon.

The photograph is titled The Silence at Rinn Point No.1 and is available as a limited edition print.
