Annagh Magazine

Annagh Magazine Annual Community Magazine based in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. Annagh Magazine was established by Ballyhaunis Junior Chamber.

The first edition was published in December 1978. Annagh Magazine covers the East Mayo parish of Annagh, which has the town of Ballyhaunis at its centre. The magazine has grown and developed over the years as many people have helped, in a totally voluntary capacity, with all aspects of the magazine - writing articles and poems, providing photographs, patronage, selling the magazine and above all s

upporting the magazine by buying it

Annagh Magazine is published on an annual basis and goes on sale at the beginning of December every year. A printed copy of the magazine costs €10 plus post & packaging.

The Journey to Our 50th Edition

As we look ahead to a very special milestone — the 50th edition of the Annagh Magazine in 2027 — we’re taking the opportunity to reflect and share a collection of photographs from past editions of the magazine, capturing parish life from 40, 30, 20 and 10 years ago. These images tell the story of Ballyhaunis through the people, places, celebrations and everyday moments that make our community so special.

We hope these snapshots from the past will bring back fond memories, spark conversations, and perhaps even a few smiles along the way.

This selection of photographs comes from the 2006 edition of the magazine.

Celebrating Our Story: Journey to the 50th Edition

As we look ahead to a very special milestone—the 50th edition of our Annagh Magazine in 2027—we’re taking a moment to look back.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing a selection of photographs from past editions of the magazine—capturing moments from parish life 40, 30, 20 and 10 years ago. These images tell the story of our community: the people, the places, the celebrations, and the everyday moments of Ballyhaunis life.

From familiar faces to long-forgotten events, each photo is a snapshot of our shared history. We hope these glimpses into the past will bring back memories, spark conversations, and maybe even a few smiles.

As we build towards our 50th edition, we invite you to join us on this journey through time. Our first selection of photos is taken from the 1986 edition.
