📸 Advanced Photography Course – Starting Thursday 12th March

Are you comfortable with the basics of photography but want to take your images to the next level?

My Advanced Photography Course begins on Thursday 12th March in Athlone, and it’s designed for photographers who already understand the fundamentals (especially the exposure triangle) and want to develop their skills and confidence behind the camera.

During the course we will explore:

📷 Portrait lighting using natural light, studio lights and off-camera flash
🌄 Landscape photography techniques including filters, composition and planning shots
🖥 Editing workflow using Lightroom Classic and Photoshop
📸 Constructive photo critiques to help improve your photography
🗂 Backup strategies to protect your images

We’ll also organise a landscape photography trip to Connemara, giving you the opportunity to practise what you learn in a relaxed and friendly environment.

You don’t need to be an expert — if you understand the basics and want to grow creatively, this course is the perfect next step.

💀✨ Festival of the Dead – Athlone Photography Club Masterclass ✨💀

As part of last weekend’s Portrait Masterclass, we wanted to do something a little different — something bold, creative, and full of colour. Together, Martha and Louie brought incredible energy to this Mexican Festival of the Dead–themed shoot, while Rachel Connolly from Fierce Fun Faces worked her magic with stunning face painting that completely transformed the look.

It was a real collaboration between all of us — photography, modelling, and makeup — to create something special that mixed light, texture, and storytelling.

A huge thanks to everyone involved for helping bring this vision to life! 🙌

Love Birds – A Little Bit of Magic at Lough Ennell

I’ve tried so many times to capture a shot like this, but nature has a mind of its own. Then, one evening, everything just fell into place—a heart-shaped murmuration with two swans perfectly in front of it.

It got me thinking… sometimes in life, you have to keep showing up, keep trying, and embrace the times it doesn’t work out. Because when the moment is right, all that effort pays off in the most beautiful way.
