I don’t care to generate images with AI because, for me, the whole point is the process itself. What drives me to create is the challenge of bringing an idea to life through photography. Coming up with the concept, finding the right people, styling, lighting, shooting and editing.

I’m not interested in the easiest way to arrive at the final image. I want the process that makes me feel happy, fulfilled and proud of what I created.

AI can generate an image, but it can’t replace what the act of creating gives me.

Join me at Vistek Calgary Vistek Calgary for a FREE photography event on August 22!

I’ll be giving a talk on some of my favorite ways to create unique effects right in camera, followed by a live photoshoot demo where we’ll actually put them into practice and get creative together.

We’ll play with things like double exposures, prisms and reflections, light leaks, shooting through different materials, freelensing, light painting and more.

This is the original image straight out of camera.

I start in Capture One, where I build the color grade using Match Look as a starting point.

Next, I retouch the skin in Evoto AI to speed up the editing process while keeping everything looking natural.

Finally, I finish everything in Photoshop with the small details and final refinements.

I’ve been using 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗼 ｜𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 for a while now, and honestly, I can’t imagine going back to my old editing workflow. It’s saved me so much time while still letting me keep my own editing style.

It’s also so easy to use… apparently even a baby can professionally edit photos. 😂

Some of my favorite features are skin retouch, armpit touch-up, clothes de-wrinkle, tattoo removal, adding makeup, and so many more tools that make editing portraits so much faster.

I turned 35 today, and these are some of my favorite photos I’ve taken over the years. If you’ve been following me for a while, you might recognize some of them.

Choosing just 20 images was incredibly difficult. There are so many more I wanted to include.

I’ve been doing photography since I was 18, and it’s hard to put into words how much this journey has shaped my life. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to create, learn, and share my work with all of you.

Which photo is your favorite? I can’t wait to continue creating art in the years to come.

Photography literally means “painting with light,” and I truly believe that light can make or break an image.

Sometimes you can find yourself in the most beautiful location, but if the light isn’t right, the photo just won’t have the same impact. And sometimes it’s the complete opposite: an ordinary spot can become something magical when the light is beautiful.

One of the most important skills you can develop as a photographer isn’t finding the perfect location, it’s learning how to spot beautiful light. Once you start seeing it, you’ll find opportunities everywhere.

One of my favourite moments from this photoshoot in my hometown of Zhovkva, Ukraine 🇺🇦

This sweet stray cat wandered into our set and immediately made himself part of the shoot. We couldn’t resist taking a few portraits with him, and honestly, I think he stole the spotlight.

Sometimes the best photo props are the ones you don’t plan for.
