Chronology of the Dogiyai Bloody Incident from 31 March to 2 April 2026
Tuesday, 31 March 2026 became a day of tragedy for the people and land of Dogiyai. On this day, a heartbreaking bloody incident occurred. The Dogiyai Bloody Incident began with the discovery of the body of a police officer assigned in the Dogiyai area. The victim, Bripda Juventus Edowai, was found dead inside a drainage ditch located in front of Kingmi Ebenezer Church, Moanemani, Dogiyai, on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
From 31 March to 2 April 2026, the situation in Moanemani was tense and completely paralyzed. Reports indicated that several buildings and public facilities were burned down. Up until that date, the number of civilian victims continued to rise as security sweeps expanded into several villages in Kamuu District.
Casualties
5 Deaths:
Some identified victims included Siprianus Tibakoto (shot in the head), Yulita Pigai (an elderly disabled woman shot inside her house), and Martinus Yobee (a teenager). Initial reports confirmed that between five and six civilians were killed.
6 Critically Injured:
Six others reportedly suffered serious gunshot wounds to vital organs (abdomen, legs, and chest) and were evacuated in critical condition.
The situation in Moanemani Town became completely paralyzed. Several kiosks and buildings around the market area were burned as a reaction to the civilian deaths. Security forces remained on alert, while residents fled to safer places out of fear of further raids and operations.
The Coalition for Law Enforcement and Human Rights in Papua, together with various student organizations, demanded the establishment of an Independent Investigation Team. This incident has been recorded as one of the serious human rights violations in the Mee Pago region due to the deaths of innocent children and elderly civilians.

IPMADO NABIRE STUDY CITY โ SATURDAY, 9 MAY 2026
Nabire, 10 May 2026 โ Nabire Regional Police deployed approximately 700 personnel to secure a public demonstration scheduled to take place in Nabire Regency on Monday, 11 May 2026.
1. Dormitory Gathering Point
07:00 WIT
Without prior notice, police arrived at the Dogiyai Dormitory gathering point on Dosa Street, Wonorejo. The police deployed one Dalmas truck, 13 armed officers, one driver, and two internal TNIโPolri documentation personnel. In total, there were 14 personnel and three motorcycles.

Mee Pago Tribal Chief, Melkias Keiya, arrived and spoke with the demonstrators at the Dogiyai Dormitory gathering point, stating that they demanded dialogue during the dayโs action.

An Intelkam officer from the Regional Police was observed disguising himself as a motorcycle taxi driver wearing a blue helmet and riding a Mio motorcycle near the Dogiyai Dormitory on Dosa BMW Street.

Around the Dogiyai Dormitory area on Dosa BMW Street, intelligence monitoring continued up to the dormitory entrance near the main MRP road. Joint TNIโPolri personnel in full gear guarded the command vehicle and controlled the movement of demonstrators.

The General Field Coordinator, representatives in charge, and demonstrators monitored the command vehicle and coordinated with gathering points at Pasar Karang, USWIM, SP1 Jepara II, and Siriwini.
2. Central Gathering Point โ Command Coordination

Police arrived at the Dogiyai Dormitory gathering point with one Dalmas truck, 13 armed officers, one driver, two TNIโPolri documentation personnel, and three motorcycles.

3. Pasar Karang Gathering Point

Field coordinators and demonstrators moved from YPPGI Maranatha Elementary School toward Efata for mass consolidation around West Karang.

Participants from the Karang point moved toward the main gathering area.

The field coordinators and demonstrators arrived at the Karang gathering point.

Security forces approached the demonstrators, and negotiations began between the negotiation team and the authorities.

The General Field Coordinator directed the demonstrators to enter the command line and instructed them to begin the long march toward the DPR Office.
4. USWIM Gathering Point
06:39 WIT
Field coordinators and demonstrators arrived at the USWIM campus gathering point and occupied the campus area.

Participants gathered at the campus gate, installing campus attributes and banners while waiting for more demonstrators.

Students conducted speeches and mobilized participants inside the USWIM campus.

One traffic police vehicle and one police truck arrived at the USWIM gate.

Students negotiated with police officers at the campus gate.

Students began giving speeches at the USWIM gate. Negotiations failed to reach an agreement regarding the long march.

Students continued their speeches while police attempted to suppress the democratic space by pushing demonstrators back from the gate area.

5. Siriwini Gathering Point

Participants arrived at the gathering point where joint security forces were already on standby with two TNI trucks, one Sabhara vehicle, and one Dalmas vehicle.

Security forces blocked the demonstrators.

Negotiations took place while speeches continued.

Police negotiators offered to transport demonstrators using trucks, but refused to allow a long march. Demonstrators were instructed to remain in place and continue speeches.

Another police group arrived for negotiations. Demonstrators insisted on conducting a long march, but police rejected the request.

The KNPI Chairman and colleagues from Cipayung OKP organizations arrived to mediate negotiations. They requested transportation for demonstrators to Karang Point. Police agreed and contacted their superiors to prepare trucks.

Police instructed demonstrators to remain in place and continue speeches, again prohibiting the long march.

Negotiators confirmed communication with superiors regarding transportation to Karang Point.

Police requested that demonstrators instead be transported directly to the DPR Office. Negotiators attempted to maintain the original agreement to be dropped at Karang Point, but negotiations failed.

Demonstrators dispersed and regrouped independently to join the Karang action point.

Participants began traveling to Karang using motorcycles.

Demonstrators successfully arrived at Karang and joined the long march together toward the Central Papua DPR Office.
Arrival at the Central Papua DPR Office

The General Field Coordinator and demonstrators arrived at the Central Papua House of Representatives Office (DPRP PT) to deliver their aspirations.

The General Field Coordinator directed representatives of traditional leaders, pioneer organizations, student representatives from each regency, and academic representatives to participate in the action.

The General Field Coordinator officially handed over the demands to the Central Papua DPR.

The DPR of Central Papua formally received the aspirations at the DPR Office.
15:40 WIT
The General Field Coordinator, demonstrators, and action equipment returned to the Dogiyai Dormitory Secretariat (IPMADO).
