The walk along the park and the Brisbane River took much longer than planned. I really wanted to return to the Story Bridge before sunset, to capture the colors of the passing day. Therefore, the way back to the hotel had to be shortened a little. After walking through a small city park, I came to Brisbane's Chinatown. Ethnic quarters of cities are always very interesting. Various national decorations, neon signs and architecture stand out very much against the background of the general appearance of the city. Chinatown is the hub of Asian trade in Brisbane, with a variety of supermarkets, restaurants, trinket and clothing shops, Chinese medicine specialists and markets on the weekends. During Chinese New Year, the area comes alive with celebrations and performances. If you’re after a Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai or Korean meal, Chinatown and the surrounding area has a myriad of delicious choices. Some people might recognize Chinatown from some scenes in Jackie Chan’s movie First Strike.
The walking tour of the city was coming to an end; almost at sunset I returned to the first point of my route around the city - the famous Story Bridge. My brief acquaintance with this city ended here. Of course one day is not enough. The city is simply stunning - beautiful, picturesque, with many parks, gardens and a beach where you can plunge into a green oasis and enjoy nature without having to leave the city. Numerous museums and exhibitions will not let connoisseurs of cultural recreation get bored, and shopping lovers will not be disappointed by shopping centers and shopping streets. In short, everyone will find something nice here!
